Game Grades – Chiefs at Panthers
Are the Panthers that good, or are the Chiefs that bad? As usual, the answer is somewhere in the middle.
Offense:
Simply the best performance on all levels Panthers fans have seen in many season. Watching Williams and Stewart run the ball effectively brought back memories of #48 running this team to the Superbowl. Even with two backup tackles, the Panthers dominated the line of scimmage all day long. Jake Delhomme was accurate on most of his throws, and if not for a few ducks would have had a career day. Even return specialist Jones contributed on offense, catchign a clutch first down pass. I do have a quick questions though, where is Dwayne Jarrett?
Offense: A
Defense:
Shutting out an opponent at home. Does it get any better? The defense put up its best effort since Del Rio was coordinating. Jon Beason continues to come into his own, and will be an all pro middle linebacker before he is done. He is largely to credit for shutting down a running back that just last week ran for 195 yards. Once the Chiefs were a one dimensional passing team, the game was over.
Sound familiar Panthers fans? That was us last season.
Defensive Grade: A+
Special Teams:
No big plays. Lloyd continues to be the most important off season acquisition on the team, earning his roster spot every Sunday.
Special Teams Grade: A
If you are a Panthers fan and not excited about the prospects of this season, you need to check your pulse.
