The Charlotte Bobcats have finally engaged in some offseason activity. After being quiet for most of the offseason, the Bobcats agreed to trade their first selection in franchise history to the New Orleans Hornets for Tyson Chandler. The move does save the Bobcats a lot of money in the future and, perhaps, makes things easier for Bob Johnson to unload his share of the organization.

Most every Panther fan has an opinion on Dan Morgan. Some remember his accomplishments on the field — like leading the Panthers with 25 tackles in Super Bowl XXXVIII. Some will remember his injuries — like the broken leg he sustained on the choppy sod of then Ericsson Stadium en route to sacking Brett Favre. But everyone remembers the tenacity and passion Morgan played with as a Carolina Panther and the classy way he carried himself on and off the field.

The answer to these questions will determine the competitiveness of the Carolina Panthers this season.
5) Is Jake Delhomme still the answer at QB?
I can’t imagine Delhomme being replaced as the starter during camp or preseason. He is good enough to win in this league. The only question I have is his consistency. Delhomme is the prototypical Hot/Cold QB. When he is hot, he is a pro bowl caliber player. However, a few times a year he has been cold. When he is cold, it is painful to watch. Can Jake reduce the number of those less than stellar (to put it politely) games?

Imagine yourself at your workplace.
Now imagine yourself having the worst possible day at your workplace. Imagine nothing goes right, and every customer is there to witness your demise.
Then imagine the next opportunity to redeem yourself is eight months away. Eight full months of second guessing and customer complaints.
This is what it must feel like to be in Jake Delhomme’s shoes this offseaon. Despite the endless message board jabs and talk radio blathering, Jake Delhomme appears to be ready to show Carolina why he remains the starting quarterback. In a recent interview with Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe, Delhomme explained his mindset.

First, a quick history of professional baseball in Charlotte, per Wikipedia.com:
Professional baseball in Charlotte dates to 1901, with the formation of the Charlotte Hornets. They were an independent team until 1937, when the Washington Senators, now the Minnesota Twins, purchased the team. The Hornets would remain affiliated with the Senators/Twins for 35 years. In 1940, Calvin Griffith, the son of Senators owner Clark Griffith and future owner of the Senators/Twins, built a 3,200-seat park in Charlotte’s Dilworth neighborhood, Calvin Griffith Park. It would be the home of Charlotte baseball for the next half-century.

With the addition of Ron Meeks as Defensive Coordinator, I am anxiously waiting to see one very important aspect of the defense that has been lacking in recent years.
When it comes to great defenses, gang tackling is as important as shoulder pads. Take a quick look back at some of the most dominant and consistent defenses of the past decade, Baltimore and Tampa Bay. One thing that becomes apparent very quickly is the discipline those squads had in terms of gang tackling. When I say gang tackling, I mean four or five guys hitting the ball carrier and trying to strip the ball. Every player on the defense keeps their feet moving until the whistle blows. Every player thirsty to administer a jaw numbing hit.
