John Fox considers leaving

Anyone that has listened to a John Fox press conference knows he speaks a lot of words, but rarely say anything. That is what makes his latest statement regarding his job as head coach very interesting.

“I’ve got a year on my contract. I don’t want get into that right now,” Fox said. “Our focus is to get through the season. I have an agent (who) deals with that.”

Seems harmless enough, right? Not so. This is about as revealing a statement Fox has ever made to the media. The key sentence here being “I have an agent who deals with that”. Fox might as well have stamped “AVAILABLE” on his forehead for the rest of the league to see.

Fox will be a sought after Head Coach this offseason should he entertain the idea of leaving Carolina. Although he has never had two consecutive winning seasons, he has a winning record overall. Fox will be the poor man’s Bill Cowher, looked at when better coaching options are no longer available.
