Panthers – Vikings could be moved

The Carolina Panthers and the NFL are reportedly considering moving the Carolina Panthers – Minnesota Vikings came scheduled for this Sunday afternoon. There has only been speculation of the move up until now, but according to Fox 46 the talks are indeed happening.

Although no location has been specified, the possibility of Clemson University’s stadium would make the most sense. The Carolina Panthers spent their entire inaugural season at Clemson, the relationship is there. Moving the game to another Charlotte area location would not make much sense as protests would surely follow, except at a much less secure facility.

Stay tuned for more of this story as it breaks.

UPDATE: The Carolina Panthers just released the following statement:

“We are in contact with government officials, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the NFL. We are continuing to monitor events as we prepare for Sunday’s home game.”
