10 years too late. Saw the article in the Observer, and even then they couldn't stop themselves from taking a shot at Bob and the 'Cats.

we're ecstatic to be rid of the hillbilly, he doesn't fit in a city like ours.

Shinn sucks balls. The Observer can't glorify him enough. He's no hillbilly, he's pure weasel. You only get that in a city boy.

he's a hypocritical piece of shit that's kept the hornets from ever really contending. you can't spend too much when your sole income is the team's bottomline...

don't be surprized if the hornets don't move again, either way shinn was a small fish in a big pound compared to most owners(including MJ)

It should have been obvious to you that Shinn was a huge problem when Charlotte ran the Hornets out of town and were promptly awarded a brand new team.

i don't wish harm to shinn in any way, because he does get credit for having the vision to bring a team to our city, it was just apparent that once the nba became more about the have and have not's he should have sold the team then. he paid 32 million for the team so any thing he gets is profit. New orleans no matter what is going to be a hard market to break even much less make a profit, even with a deep pocket owner

The only good thing Shinn did was bring Professional Sports to Charlotte.

As an owner, he sucked. He would trade away any decent talent we had.

As a person, he was a huge POS.

This is why Charlotte said that we would rather not have an NBA team than have one owned by Shinn.

The negative vote on the uptown arena was more of a shot at Shinn than anything else.

I heard he paid even less than that. Owners who make their sports franchises their only business, usually suck.

Our founder took alot of criticism for having other business interests outside of his NBA team and was always portrayed as "not caring" because of it. When in reality, those other business interests are what is paying for a Larry Brown, a Gerald Wallace, a Stephen Jackson, and enticed a MJ to be apart of this. If he had just depended on the Bobcats for income and to keep the lights on, he would be in a world of shit. Even with losing tens of millions of dollars every year, our founder still continues to invest millions into our Bobcats because he didnt put all his eggs in one basket and is a much better businessmen than he's been portrayed locally.

He has a pretty good relationship with his kids. One of them works for him now. The other two do their own thing and have no interest in the Hornets.
