we're about to go grind style like 2013 49ers and NE. no matter who is playing for us, no matter who they have, we will grind til its over. Cam has become adept at making the game winning drives and that is all that is really required of him. i would say GB could be a blow out if we have injures on D or a bad night, but i think with no jordy our CBs can manage the back end and keep it close.
Luke is gonna be ok. Yeah, it looked bad because of how he reacted but that's no indication of what actually happened in his head -- not saying it is better or worse, just saying you can't really judge an injury that way just because he tried to get up. if anything i would assume it's probably better he wasn't immediately knocked out, but i have no idea. I think we're witnessing something closer to how concussions should be dealt with by teams and the league. meaning, we give him more than 5 days of rest before the next game. actually, i just got a notice on fantasy that the TE for SD has a second concussion from last week. i'm assuming that means he just recently had one before. so he probably came back too soon. that's not what we want for Luke.
I think it depends on how bad he wants to be an MLB. I think he could very easily go back to being a semi-starting OLB once Davis retires here, but he'll never be the full time MLB. This could be a Witherspoon type issue where he wants a position we can't give him and wants out. If he's content with a ceiling of being a part time starter on the outside with backup duties in the middle then we should keep him. If not, we need the best value for him. We definitely keep him this season and dangle him over the offseason. If potential trades are more valuable than the comp pick might be then we pull the trigger. In fact I think a trade would be preferable as long as it's not below 4th round, just because of how uncertain the comp pick process is.
