  1. I just have to say, this place has been SUPER fuging BORING post-draft. I really needed this thread. Thank you all.
  2. Shaq Thompson Involved In Head on Collision

He's probably referring to the snapchat thing last season where he said "fug the seahawks and the 12th man and keep pounding, bitches..." or something to that effect.
  3. Boykin not being physical enough would also explain why he wasn't a fit in Pittsburgh.
  4. BigCats next purchase

I'm betting he'd go for a WOLF or Sub-Zero rather than a fancy Samsung. Edit: and when I opened this thread, I was expecting a picture of a fit, twentysomething, Asian chick with a black card and chastity belt :D. Too soon?
  5. Brandon Boykin to visit Falcons

I think this is the downside of many people creating the mythology of Gettleman as some type of mafia Don. They start to believe that he makes decisions just because he can and not because it's something he's decided with input from his two-time Coach of the Year and his staff. These same people were most likely certain that Dave was going to replace Ron several years ago. Probably best we just steer clear of this circle jerk of sadness before we get anything on our shoes...
  6. Got a relationship question...

I think the takeaway from this entire thread is that the majority of the posters that frequent this board don't really care about how much money you have, and find it grating when your latest purchase or splurge is all you have to talk about or contribute to the conversation. Most of us do pretty well, and still refrain from name dropping brands or posting pics of our cars/boats/homes in this forum other than the occasional man cave pic. It's not that this is necessarily a bad thing, but it does come off as grating to a lot of people. No one is asking you to be ashamed of what you've earned, just that maybe that's not the reason we want you around in the first place, and that's a good thing. I couldn't give a poo what's in your bank account, but I do enjoy your quips in certain threads, or some of your takes on things happening with the Panthers. Seek out people in your personal life that have nothing to gain from you, and I'll wager that you'll notice and uptick in the quality of your relationships. I feel like perhaps part of your problem is that you are treating your search for a romantic partner too similarly to the purchase of a new luxury vehicle or business acquisition, where typically the more money you spend, the higher the quality. However with real people, the kind that are 'for sale' are almost always the opposite of what you're looking for.
  7. Got a relationship question...

Jesus God! He's trolling the poo out of some of you! I tip my hat to you @thebigcat. Is this an exercise for a creative writing class you're taking or something? If I knew how to insert that gif of Orson Welles clapping, I would totally post it.
  8. Got a relationship question...

Now that we all know how much money you're willing to blow, one round of drinks just ain't going to cut it...
  9. Proehl talks about Damiere Byrd

It's great to see the WR position go from a position of weakness to one of strength. I expect the CB position is on the same path, just a year or so behind.
  10. Got a relationship question...

Charlottenian, stop trolling these poor people. At least I hope you're trolling. If not, then you've basically been paying a woman for the Girlfriend Experience, and that would be pretty sad. If this somehow isn't a troll job and you're going to pay for 'it,' go ahead and level up and get yourself one of those smoking hot Instagram girls...I suggest Sheniz Halil: Go big or go home.
  11. Panthers Release Boykin

Boykin signed a one year deal that was basically a prove-it deal to advertise his skills to other teams for a pay day. We were willing to enter into a mutually beneficial relationship with him because we needed secondary help...until the draft. We just drafted three DBs who apparently look very promising. So, we released a guy that would leech playing time from our rookies, who the coaching staff want to see on the field ASAP. Now he has a chance to catch on with another team that needs help at DB instead of riding the bench or creating the problem of who to put on the field. If he's riding the bench behind one of our rookies, or splitting time with them, that's not a really great way to highlight his skill set for another team. This works out better for everyone. Just my opinion.
  12. The Quarter Life Crisis

Do the grad program. I would have traveled more before I settled into a career if I had it to do over again. I'd also have put less importance on dating relationships than I did at your age.
  13. I'm sure you're correct as I know they're keen on buying back their franchises if they don't like the way someone is running it. However I based my earlier statement on the interactions I've seen when I visit certain locations. Besides, I imagine that the morals they espouse as part of their contract have more to do with being Christ-centered, loving others as yourself, being honest, etc., etc.. You know, all the stuff they pretend to do while donating to groups that do the opposite. I don't care if they believe I'm going to hell, as long as my nuggets are delivered warm, crispy, speedily, and at the same price they charge everyone else.
  14. I eat at CFA because it's delicious, and because I have personally witnessed that the wackadoo views/beliefs of the Cathy's are not necessarily shared by their franchisees. I'm not going to punish caring, hardworking people for the beliefs of a couple of assholes.
