the quoted stuff about LI housing is dead on and it's a product of local politics, nimby-ism, wealthy interests, and a lack of funding (ignoring of course "wrong side of the tracks" style overt racism). a few years ago there was a push by the housing authority in wilmington to build subsidised housing for low income seniors in an area of town that's mostly middle and somewhat upper middle class white people. locals went nuts about it and there are some great clips somewhere on the internet of these ppl showing up at city council meetings to keep out "crackheads" and "crime" that is of course typical of low income seniors. they were afraid it would be another creekwood, a project in town that's basically synonymous with "black" and "crime" depending on the context. basically you get conservatives who don't want to fund it at all, liberals and conservatives who want to keep it out of their backyards, local developers who want the land to themselves for private development without the restrictions that go along with subsidized housing, elected leaders too chickenshit to tell their constituents that poor elderly people aren't going to murder them, and piss poor funding that basically requires local government to fund projects in the worst parts of town. race plays a constant role throughout, and the end result is shitty housing for poor minorities. the more overtly racist parts of housing are paradoxically the more hidden, if this makes sense (think redlining i.e. hidden by design), but structural racism is equally important to the outcome. so anyway you send poor minorities to a shitty situation, altering the demographics of the neighborhood in an even "worse" way, causing those with the means to flee to the nice neighborhood across town to do so. this of course dooms future low income projects and clients to an even worse fate than before and this positive feedback loop continues on and on and on.
anyway sorry if this isn't coherent, ive been without a home computer for months and phone posting affects my desire to edit my posts or elaborate on some things or to even bother with effort posts at all
hey im not about to read this entire thread so im just gonna ask huddle elder @PhillyB if it's safe to assume that this picture of cam being black around a bunch of black people blew up and landed in the tinderbox because there is a significant amount of racial animus that goes unchecked on this website? also ive been thinking, we have the lovely ladies forum to keep all of the creepy dads from shitting up the rest of this sports related forum with their softcore porn so why not consider adding a subforum for the stormfront crowd? maybe call it rowdy racists? seems better than the current policy of banning no-name racists while tolerating racist "power users"
not exactly. im actually wagering that you're unwilling or unable to explain the disparity between single parent homes in the black community and other racial groups, unwilling or unable to explain why only the black community can address this issue, and unwilling or unable to explain what the community should do in response. so, which is it? unwilling or unable? unwilling is a strong possibility, given the implicit appeal to racial animus found in this brand of concern trolling. but then again, unable is also a distinct possibility, given the fact that you're really fuging stupid.
this is a weirdly coy response from someone who seems so sure of what he's saying otherwise. a statistic isn't an issue. you can't post a statistic without interpreting it and expect that to be accepted as an argument, because it's not an argument. again, what are these "major issues within the black community", why can they only be addressed by black people, and what should they be doing?
austrians try to pass off their "knowledge" as self evident; above rigorous analysis and testing. this is of course very convenient as their "knowledge" is crank bullshit that doesn't stand up to even a tiny amount of scrutiny. your economic school has much more in common with religion than with academia. austrians do not observe and interpret data, adjusting their own thoughts accordingly; instead they seek to fit the data to their preconceived generalizations. to observe the world as an austrian means to see a thing and think "now how can i interpret this so as to mean i am right?" austrian observation demands a rejection of the scientific method; a rejection of statistics. it is theology masquerading as science and its god is the market. this is why economists and other social scientists only take the time to stop ignoring the school in order to mock the school. it is a waste of resources to prop up. the world would be a better place if the wealthy few who have spent so much to keep the school from collapsing into total obscurity would have instead donated the money to charity or, hell, even set the money on fire.
yeah it's one of those hilarious jokes like when posters would get buttmad at me and suggest im on my period. you know, one of those jokes who tells you more about the comedian than the target. he can't defend his indefensible ideology and the constant state of contradiction within which he exists, so he responds to pointed criticism with clunky "jokes" that are nothing more than worthless ad hominem. worst of all, it isn't even remotely funny. the level of humor i would expect from a know nothing government bureaucrat.
you both are simply fishing for ad hominem ammunition, as rodeo previously noted. it's very transparent. your profession, from where you draw a paycheck, is in fact relevant to your stupid ideology. you have somehow managed to safely compartmentalize your career as a tax man away from your hate boner for taxes and the services which they fund. you on the other hand have decided i am a prostitute because idk, it makes you feel better about yourself? is this a normal response to cognitive dissonance? maybe so. it seems like many austrians find themselves on the dole, from politicians like rand paul to "academics" (using this term very loosely) at universities that are funded by the public both directly and through heavily subsidized federal loans. funny, isn't it?
dear dumbass, im not attacking his profession. im attacking a baby brained ideology that somehow allows a person to compare universal healthcare to slavery but to also literally be the tax man. imo we need tax men for all sorts of government services and it's a good thing that the profession exists. how you could confuse the position from which i argue with "attacking others professions" is beyond me. it all sounds very, very stupid. given who im replying to, it sounds about right. please, please stop wasting my time by cheerleading for idiots. put away the pom poms.
a friend of a friend used ashley madison to get men to pay for her college and bills. it sounded pretty unbelievable at the time but knowing now that she may have had the only active profile in north carolina, im sold
