Unless the language in the CBA changes, there are not going to be a lot of fully guaranteed contracts out there. At the point of guarantee, the money should be transferred into an escrow account per the current CBA. This may result in 100 of millions of potential owners' money sitting in escrow. No owner wants that much money sitting in escrow.

Also, we all work hard to make enough so we can retire. Why would I work hard when I know how hard I work will not change the money that I already have coming to me? Hence the incentives they have in these contracts etc.

On second thought, why shouldn't he be the highest paid? Joe Flacco was after his SB win. I think just like with Cam and his signing, many SEA fans think making him the highest paid legitimizes him as a top QB, which I am yet to see. Joe got big bucks and well he's still not seen as an elite QB.
Also paying him $25mil a year won't affect them that much. They've signed most of their key pieces apart from Wagner and even paying Wilson 25mil they should have enough cap space to sign him to a big deal.
The issue becomes what happens when injury plagues these top players, they won't have enough to bring in quality FA assuming they don't hit on their draft picks, kinda like what happened here with Hurney, giving Jake, RBs and Beason those big contracts.

Corey is good. Hopefully he learns this year to stay on his feet after he catches the ball.

How anyone can say Mike Smith was not a good coach is beyond me. He has the best winning record of any coach in ATL history. He was AP coach of the year in 2008 and went to the playoffs every year in his first five years apart from in 2009, though he had a winning record.
Being a rah rah guy on tv does not equate to being a good coach. In the end, Dimitroff left the roster bare for him. Just look at how many Smith era players were let  go. Also it's no surprise Blank brought in Pioli to be in charge of the draft.
Having said that if they can get their defense to apply pressure, not sacks on the front like SEA does, it may greatly improve their defense and with a solid QB like Ryan be back in contention for the NFCS.

As I said earlier, Humphries was one pick ahead of us so at that point I doubt it would have cost us a lot to go get him. Of course the Cards may not have wanted to do a trade anyways.
This isn't a DG critique, it's merely answering the question of what else could he have done. Last year he said Bell was left handed, hopefully Oher doesn't turn out like Bell.

DG traded up twice in this draft to get other players at other positions. He said himself we were going for the LT Humphries who got picked by the Cardinals one spot ahead of us. He must firmly believe Oher can play. If he fails, it's squarely on DG.

He shot his team out? Can you tell us who on his team was putting up more points than him. I'll wait.

Except that he had the most points for his team despite that, and had the 4th highest ppg of any nba finals mvp. I'm not a Lebron fan by any means but I can see how much of a player he is. He needs some help like every other player in any team sport.

Did you know how many records he broke during this finals series?

Read more about what he did by himself during this finals. He could only do so much. It's still a team game and he did what most could not do. To say attempt to diminish what he did because they did not win it all is being simple-minded.

Dude was 65% of their offense, the best EVER in history. What more did you expect him to do? The closest was Jordan at 56%.

That's his game, he just keeps backing into people and then shoots. He's still a beast anyways and could only carry these scrubs so far.

Lebron is the true definition of MVP. Without him the Cavs could have only gone so far.

No, it's a team game. He could only do so much to carry those scrubs. We can't say Cam is a beast with a losing season but Lebron sucks because the rest of his team sucks.
