He was a top 10 draft pick who was utterly misused and written off by more than one team. Sometimes all it takes is the right place at the right time. I'm not prepared to call him a JAG receiver. I'll say he reaches 1000. The situation sure has opened up the possibility
Regarding Norwood, I'm almost certain he makes the roster. No way the staff is making this kid make it or break it after one walk through practice and the 4th preseason game. They were obviously considering drafting him last year and now view the trade as being able to make good on that now that we're in a pinch.
It's been two weeks since KB went down and you get the feeling some folks expected a #1 replacement to be in place for tomorrow's game already. It's ridiculous. I'll admit we are in a tight spot because of the setback, but I'll point out that the roster decision for WR suddenly became much more complex than how many and who gets a final roster spot. Seems to me that the prudent move was to ratchet up the competition by adding a sought after prospect and waiting to see what comes available this weekend. A trade would be nice if the one year rental makes sense, but unfortunately I think we would do well to wait and see what what is available without a trade.
All the homework they did on this kid makes the move a no brainer... I don't get the mocking and derision. There's certainly an undercurrent of Gettleman hate in there somewhere. I guess it comes with the territory.
Intriguing info on the rookie starts, thanks KB_fan.....Brockel may just be a remnant of the staff having to choose someone who is capable and versatile due to a lack of solid depth and being forced to ignore the shortcomings. If ever there was a time to be vigilant about elevating the run blocking game, it is now. This injury could be a signal of an IR move. Certainly the staff sees what we see. This is yet another huge storyline... It's nerve wracking, but exciting at the same time.
I know the sample size is small at the Division 1 collegiate level, but this kid has literally dominated at every turn. At this point I believe the sky is the limit for him....he needs to be challenged.
