I'm going to watch college ball but I'll for sure check out the cage match after. Like you said, it's a glorified house show so no titles will change or anything like that.
I did read through more of this thread and when you mentioned Rhyno in NXT I just assumed it was some other guy and not the old one. I went to Youtube and was shocked! Pretty sweet, nothing better than a good gore! Does he fight regularly on NXT?
Yep agree on the talent part, they desperately need to hire some new writers or something. I'm looking to get sucked back in but I just can't. They have a ton of guys that could be used as headliners yet we're stuck with Rollins fighting guys like Sting and Kane? C'mon...
I did watch a little bit of NXT while I had the free preview of WWE Network. That stuff was exciting/entertaining to watch, I'll probably get the network in the near future and will for sure start watching NXT.
Just started skimming through the thread and I basically stopped and picked back up again around the same times as you. I missed the whole CM Punk era although I would keep tabs on Randy Orton, liked him from the beginning. I saw Wrestlemania 13 get mentioned, that was one of the best. I have a VHS copy in my basement somewhere. Being a Canadian kid I was obviously a Bret Hart fan.
Its too bad I was so young when Michaels wrestled. I was a Hart fan so I never appreciated Michaels for the wrestler he was and just hated him because of his character (The Montreal Screwjob was the nail in HBK's coffin for me). Now that I'm not emotional invested anymore I can go back and watch some of these matches and have a better appreciation for him. It's funny you used the HBK/Rollins comparison because just the other day I used it as well. If you have time check out some of Rollins' (Tyler Black) matches from his Ring of Honor days.
I had just read the OP before posting, glad we agree on Rollins and totally agree on the way they're using him. I also feel like they really screwed up on Bray Wyatt, he has serious potential because he does well on the mic and has a solid character but having lose to Taker at WM was dumb. I'm hoping he beats RR at HIAC.
If Cody Rhodes had more of a look to him he could've been a main carder for a long time imo. Very solid wrestler.
Wow I've never seen this thread, also don't think I've ever opened this forum thingy though.
I loved wrestling as a kid (WWF) wasn't a huge WCW fan but would watch occasionally (I liked Raven haha). I've always loved the athleticism aspect of wrestling and really appreciate what some of these guys can do in the ring. As a kid I enjoyed a good storyline but now I strictly watch for the in-ring stuff as the storylines these days are pretty brutal. I always thought about doing the wrestling thing as a kid but my time was consumed with sports and then once I finished high school I focused on education/jobs.
As for watching these days, I'll go out of my way to watch Seth Rollins wrestle. I don't think there's a better wrestler than him right now, he literally can do it all (Thank god they never gave Reigns the title... dude has 3 moves and one's a punch).
Rollins vs Cena at Summerslam was an awesome match ruined by a terrible ending. The triple threat match at the Rumble was another one of my favorite Rollins matches. They need to start letting this guy win cleanly.
He obviously still has symptoms if they don't even want to chance it with him flying. This game against Tampa is more important than the game against Seattle since it's a division game, so the whole "resting him for Seattle" doesn't do it.
Hmm imo it has nothing to do with learning a lesson, I don't believe for a second THE PLAYERS took the Saints lightly. What you saw was Rivera and his staff once again getting out coached and bailed out by the talented players on this team.
This team will always be able to compete on talent alone, add in good team chemistry and Rivera's strength as a players coach and his ability to get the most out of the team will always give us a chance. It's the coaching that needs to step up in order for us to go to the next level.
Plus with the bye coming next week it's easy to overlook Tampa, Winston actually looked good in Houston, his number may not show it but if there's any fan base that knows not to judge a QB's performance by the boxscore it's this one. Winston got the Cam treatment and was letdown by multiple drops by his WR's.
Missing Luke his huge if it's rainy and it becomes a battle of running backs, the Bucs OC said yesterday the Panthers D is pretty vanilla without Luke.
It'd sure suck having to sit on a loss to the Bucs for 2 weeks...
