I think if Corey really shows to be at this level or better this coming season, we'll have a WR trio in place with Olsen for at least a handful of years. If a new RB gets some sh*t going like CAP/Wegher, we're going to be really close to a full & balanced offense for the first time in forever.
If our starting 5 is Walker-Batum-MKG-Frank-Al as the season progresses with Lamb and Lin being productive, we could be in decent shape. We're also set up to have a clean slate in case we suck and really have a crack at the open market next season.
My personal opinion is that the characters aren't strong or complex enough to pull off the Lynch-style. The show seems to be playing a fine line between giving ode versus attempting to replicate a style. Twin Peaks is one of my favorite shows and the emulation almost seems forced at times especially when the characters have one vibe: brooding.
Totally. Last night was One Eyed Jacks with Audrey sneaking in under cover, Cooper rescuing her. Also, her visions totally reminded me of Bob. The car getaway was even Mulholland Drive-esque. This season is trying really hard to be Lynchian. From the Farrell-Vaughn bar-lounge singer scenes to this past episode. I think a big approach of this season was to be an ode to Lynch. They've done it ok in my opinion. Some hits, some misses.
I mean looking at last year's roster, we've improved at 2 (Batum & Lamb), 3 (MKG is still growing), and 4 (Frank is way more ready than Zeller/Vonleh and us forcing Marvin there for way too many minutes). We've got some chess-eque pieces and Batum is in no way a bad add even if it's only a year rental (which I don't think it will end up being).
The more I claim I dislike this offseason, the more I'll be surprised.
A ton of these are a crapshoot right now...for example the 5th CB something that TC and preseason will determine. Also, considering how we found Remmers, Wallace could randomly beat out Martin or Chandler for a spot. We found him during last season and you just never know.
Houston and Coleman seem like the forgotten signings of the offseason.
