As someone who is pro life, I am thankful that there are organisations like PP who are fighting tooth and nail to make contraceptives available to all free of charge. I do not agree with their stance on abortion, but the work they do prevents more abortions than they facilitate.
I can accept abortion being a necessary evil in life or death situations. I cannot accept abortion as a form of contraception. We have condoms, pills, IUDs and surgeries that can do the job in a safer, healthier and more morally reasonable way.
It is a crying shame that the pro life agenda is so singularly focused on outlawing abortion, that it ignores (or vilifies) the most promising avenues to curtail the practice that it rails against.

My go to is usually half a cup of kale and spinach, one banana, two big scoops of Greek yogurt and whatever random fruit I have in the house. The kale/spinach/yogurt combo will do wonders for your gut biome, which affects everything from your morning constitutional, to your mental health. (For some, those two things are more closely linked than others. I'm looking at you SCP.)

So basically, exactly what I said in the post you quoted.
Look, Arsen, we get it. Your embarrassed that your homeland rolled over to Putin. And you think that the US should start WW3 to avenge Ukraine's soiled reputation.
Take your cry baby war mongering somewhere else.

You keep saying this. What would you have him do, besides personally beating Ole Pooty Poot in a bare knuckle, steel cage death match?

Drugs don't kill people, people do. Or does that trope only work for guns, I'm confused...

Made a margarita pork loin with mexi rice and mango salsa the other night.
Marinated the loin in lime juice, agave nectar, olive oil, cilantro and garlic. Pan seared, then baked to a nice medium.
Fresh mango salsa with tomatoes and jalapenos from the garden, onions, mango, lime juice and cilantro.
Toasted the rice with a few spoonfuls of the salsa and some chili powder before boiling.
Layer slices of pork loin over the rice and top with salsa.
Great light, filling meal with a good amount of heat. I'm about to warm up some leftovers right now.

I just left after living there for 5 years. The area itself is beautiful and the location is pretty nice too. But, it is a NAFTA town through and through.
I remember when we moved to NC from Savannah, Hickory was expected to outpace Charlotte in growth. Then, the furniture packed up and left for the South China Sea. Now, empty mills and retail shops falling into dilapidation as far as the eye can see.
The education and employment opportunities are almost non existent, and the crime rate, unemployment rate and median income all bear that out.
There are some things I absolutely love about Hickory. (Glenn C Hilton is by far my favorite disc golf park in the state.) I hope that the city can finally recover from the industrial exodus 15 years ago. A public university would go a long way towards that end.

Considering that Hickory was recently voted the most miserable city in America, I find it odd that it is not on this list. Also, Statesville is not great, but they have gotten a whole hell of a lot better than when I left that town 10 years ago.

I don't have any kids, but I have been peeing in pools for a quarter century and I still get nervous every single time that a cloud of red pee-dye is going to rat me out.

We have so much to be proud of here in the south. So, why choose to revere the most shameful parts of our heritage?
Patterson Hood of Drive By Truckers puts it beautifully in this editorial from the NY Times.

It IS a symbol of divisiveness, treason and, yes, hatred. It was the battle flag of a society that fought to own black people. Literally the only reason to look fondly upon the flag of treason is if one wishes the south had won (and slavery was still legal) or longs for the good ole days. (When blacks knew their place!)
I was born and raised in the south, and love this fine corner of Appalachia that we call home. I am proud as poo of Sweet Tea, BBQ, Cheerwine, great weather and lush scenic beauty, but I will never be proud of the treasonous bastards who gave their lives so that some rich assholes could own black people.
You can call the rebel flag heritage if you want, but it is not one that any of us should be proud of.

  15. Stumpy added a post in a topic The Nominee of the Dem Party

Link? I'd love to see this. Was it her support for the Iraq war, fighting tooth and nail to go to war with Syria and Iran, her (previous) stance against gay marriage or her unwavering support for all things wall street that lends her such impressive liberal creds? Something tells me this was put out by her own campaign to try to convince democrats to vote against their own beliefs. She has always been a Pub in Dem's clothes. It's exactly why a moderate (Obama) was able to torch her in the primaries last go round, and it's the same reason a true liberal (Bernie) is about to do the same this time.
