"we need ID at the polls" is in the same category as "we need to drug test food stamp recipients" it's a tried and true rabble-rousing tactic that makes people prick their ears up. it targets the "common sense" (in mile-high scare quotes) part of their brains that causes them to go "yeah, why the hell would you be opposed to that? gravy train's over, freeloaders!". obviously the only people who are opposed to it are naive liberals, lazy idiots, and people who want to cheat the system. it plays to preconceived notions and, conceptually, it scratches an itch in a way that makes it really, really hard to talk people out of it no matter how many facts you present them with. it's also easy to muddy the waters by lumping all fraud in with in-person voter impersonation, which is only a tiny slice of the problem. it's also the only type of fraud that ID at the polls is intended to help solve. it's easy to go find some article somewhere where somebody lied on an absentee ballot or a registration form or made a clerical error and thumb your nose at the opposition. it's a classic straw man tactic, and it works because people generally aren't very precise when discussing the issue.

cpantherking was probably in the room when it was all going down so i trust him when he says norman was let go at the order or command of many of the players.
  12. Carolina Panthers OTA Notes and Photos

he was serving talib an ass whupping before he got injured. among other much-bitched-about factors that was one of the differences in the game i think.
  13. Cool. J-No showed up for Tolbert's charity event

also there are people making fun of a former panther in the thread about byron bell being injured so if you could rush over there and deliver some of your insider info from your days inside the panthers org to set them straight that'd be awesome
