  1. Josh Norman (Player's Tribune Column) on the Panthers

"fan" is short for "fanatic" you're free to expect somebody who applies that to themselves to use sound reasoning to arrive at their positions but i don't recommend it.
  2. Might be Jobless

    jerry maguire reference
  3. Josh Norman (Player's Tribune Column) on the Panthers

like when the steve smith fans were going ballistic i knew they were just pissed off and didn't mean half the poo they were saying.
  4. Josh Norman (Player's Tribune Column) on the Panthers

i call those human emotions actually. most people probably aren't going to stay butthurt forever. if someone was legitimately all about josh norman and then they say he sucks now that he's off the panthers then they're being inconsistent. typically a "fairweather fan" is used in a team sense not with just one player. and what this fanbase and local media does is kindergarten compared to the NFC east teams. i am being 100% serious when i say that i hope he's ready.
  5. Josh Norman (Player's Tribune Column) on the Panthers

who the hell is being fairweather if anything saying that josh sucks now that he's not a panther makes you a massive homer which is the exact opposite of that
  6. Broncos should double team Olsen and...

there's something you need to understand about "southern hospitality", and it's that it basically means "we're not as upfront about the fact that we don't like you"
  7. how do i change my user name

    i like this guy
  8. Sorry. Gettlemens Draft This Year Blows

i know, i remember that. hurney rightfully received that kind of hype wrongly or rightly because the franchise was relevant in ways that it hadn't been before over his first handful of years. i was a big hurney fan until 2009 myself. i didn't pin things down to a particular time frame when i referred to a "run of success" because i believe the current one is ongoing. the panthers followed 2005 with two consecutive non-winning non-playoff seasons, a one-and-done playoff loss that's easily on the short list of the worst games in franchise history, an 8-8 non-playoff season, then three straight losing seasons before hurney was finally canned. i don't even need to mention the awe-inspiring parade of shitshow drafts, trades, and contracts from 2009-2012 because we're all familiar with them. i think what gives gettleman the edge and what will eventually bring the franchise a title is his scouting experience and the fact that he's been immersed in the actual blood and guts of championship football for decades. hurney didn't have that kind of background. i know you didn't bring this up, but i've seen it over and over again as of late, and one of the major criticisms hurled at gettleman (he doesn't have to do anything bc the core was drafted by another guy!) was true of the early hurney years too. jenkins, smitty, moose, minter, rucker, morgan, and the entire OL outside of gross if i remember correctly were on the team prior to 2002.
  9. Sorry. Gettlemens Draft This Year Blows

OP's post jumped the shark when he called butler a "third string DT" then he broke out a screenshot from which i strongly doubt closely aligns with any team's draft board to prove his point if you want to defend that then be my guest. critical opinions of gettleman that don't resort to soapboxing like the first post in this topic or rants about how cam is going to leave us and sign with the cowboys because we didn't "surround him with weapons" tend to get taken a little more seriously this is the most consistent run of success in the team's history. people are going to defend gettleman's personnel moves, deal with it.
  10. On second thought...we should have paid Norman

how much confidence did you have in the front office if two draft picks can destroy it anyway if gettleman dealt cam tomorrow that'd destroy my confidence in the FO.
  11. On second thought...we should have paid Norman

i blame josh's agent negotiating in bad faith more than i blame the general manager. none of you will come out and say it but you're basically arguing that gettleman should have done josh's agent's job for him. yeah he could have signed back here maybe but washington thrust a number higher than dave can count in his face within 48 hours. that's life.
  12. On second thought...we should have paid Norman

i mean i'm not gonna act like this draft hasn't been fuging weird as hell so far but the back and forth gets tiresome. arguing with people whose default opinion is that he's an arrogant ego-driven overrated jackass and the best he can do is not horribly fug up gets boring fast because there's always something.
  13. On second thought...we should have paid Norman

i like how you specifically crafted this response so that nobody could bring up kam chancellor
  14. On second thought...we should have paid Norman

and my god are people still trying to damage control josh's bush league agent negotiating in bad faith yeah you know what you're right. dave gettleman should have left little sticky notes on the guy's desk reminding him to be really really sure he's keeping his client up to speed on what's going on. he should have also gone over the guy's head and contacted josh directly just to be super duper sure. so in a way it is all dave gettleidiot's fault just like everything bad that's happened since he got here. for the record though anything good that's happened since 2013 was because of marty hurney. i think that pretty well covers things.
  15. On second thought...we should have paid Norman

did you just compare a guy who makes personnel decisions for an NFL team to adolf hitler
