I stayed away from all Panthers in my money league. Olsen IMO only non gamble now. I wouldn't of done Cam either. I was gonna target 28 as my sleeper RB in my big money league but losing KB is just gonna further clog things up for him if he stayed healthy.
dude has a sweet gig. He is loved now, makes good money, little pressure. He he wouldn't last a year elsewhere and then likely struggles to find a place he likes to be a backup. He doesn't want to be 2015 Hoyer when he has this gig.
letting his offensive talent get worse every season doesn't make sense.....especially if he is your franchise QB you pay a lot of money too. Asking him to play in a tradional old school ball control O....with a limited traditional run and no WRs sounds like a real way to get your 100 investment hurt to me...b/c the only hope you end up with is Cam going playground this year trying to make something happen b/c he will know it will come down to that
when your near the bottom in the NFL from a talent perspective with thin depth....you don't need pro bowlers. we sign league wide rejects like Oher and Ginn and the improvement is HUGE. That is how weak we have become on the offensive side....that speaks volumes. NFL teams outside of comically weak ones don't view those moves as improving but we do.... I don't want Pro Bowlers....I want guys that shouldn't be practice squad on the field. We see too much of that and our own GM advised we could quit shopping at Walmart and go to Target. Didn't see that IMO. We also sit on dudes like Tolbert....costing us. Carolina always shows too much loyalty to guys IMO at a cost.
We have a lot of great talent on D....no doubt. We still aren't the Seahawks. We were 21st pts allowed on D last year....our D last year is drastically over rated. It wasn't top 10. Shula ball limits possessions....which limits yardage. Being the 21st ranked D in pts allowed means we weren't that great last year.... our OL isn't established. It is very unproven. Agree on Olsen. Right now at WR we have a hurt KB. Funchess isn't anything yet...could be great or awful. RBs are okay. Which is more than enough....but what really matters is the OL and We don't know if we can run on anyone much less if we can run on stacked boxes without Cam having to bail it all out putting the focus on him
no one said you had to be a freak... we are talking about having a freak....and wasting those freak years on what has potential to be amazing seasons. You want improvement in Cam yet think it is realistic with what we do with the talent around him on O? That IMO isn't realistic....greats have great talent. We aren't even in the pretty good area. really drafting a guy like Newton doesn't make a ton of sense if you don't want to exploit what makes him unique and unlike in QB in NFL history....if you want him to play the game like Manning (and instead of giving him elite players and all time greats all over the field....you give him what our FO does)
false. The talent around Cam on offense hasn't improved each year. Can't even claim we are trying to win now....look at what we did to Cam last year. Talent got so bad league wide rejects like Oher and Ginn become HUGE upgrades this year and considered good.
you don't care about Cam's ability to buy time and do amazing things in the pocket or ability to create offense when both a traditional run and pass would be shutdown? that doesn't make tons of sense but whatever floats your boat
5 years into their career what type investments did their teams make for them? Cam is limited currently in how much he can actually grow currently....so we are delaying his ability to grow. Those guys spent years growing as elite players and they had elite talent enabling them to grow.
bullpoo...you do care about the video Cam version. He is the one that can shrug off a giant DT, break someone's ankle while still in the pocket and still make the pass. He is the one that can bail out an entire offense when the OL can't generate 5 rush yards or get open. no one said anything about playing like Vick. Cam never had played his way or will. Cam is a crutch used. Means you are willing to allow your OTs to be Bell/Chandler last season...and that wasn't forced by injury. Means you can constantly compete despite constantly putting poor talent around your QB which is all that has existed since DG has been here. Cam isn't those QBs. No point comparing them. He is unique b/c of the mismatch he physically is....that window is early in his career. Not late. Later he will have to tone it all down.
we aren't getting help. you would have to go buy yourself help. Dave won't do that. You won't get help for what he is willing to do... the fact he wouldn't even kick tires in a simple workout on Wayne speaks volumes. I personally think Wayne is done and a workout would have proved that....but you gotta kick those tires. Belchick is kicking them. His team goes 10+ wins every year for a reason. He also doesn't get emotionally attached to dudes and kicks them to the curb.
we didn't lose our top 2 WRs... people somehow think b/c we drafted a 2nd round WR it makes him a legit 2015 starting target...and out of the gate at that. 2014 was not a realistic expectation even from a first rounder....it was just one of those rare things.
