  1. Official Panthers - Broncos Superbowl Gameday Thread

Know how you know the Super Bowl coverage starts too early? CBS runs a five minute segment on the Bills fictitiously winning the four straight Super Bowls they lost 20+ years ago.
  2. JR taking the entire organization to the SB

I'm not sure about that. I think all "full-time" employees with the team were offered the opportunity, but I can't say for sure.
  3. JR taking the entire organization to the SB

I was an intern with the Panthers during the '03 season. After beating Philly, Mr. Richardson personally visited every office in the stadium to inform employees that he was footing the bill to send everyone plus one guest each to Houston for the game. We flew to Houston Thursday and back to Charlotte Monday. Included in the trip were multiple parties (welcome party, pregame party, postgame party), the NFL experience, a trip to NASA, and tickets to the game. It was a trip for which I will always be thankful and one which made me quickly look past all the "JR is wrecking this team because he just cares about money" posts during the CBA negotiations and 2010 season.
  4. Forensic Justice: Rae Carruth

Get over yourself, dude. Just because OP started a thread about a new show which just so happened to track the case of a former Panther does not mean he is a terrible fan or person. He didn't say he was posting the information to honor Rae Carruth or anything along those lines. He was posting solely information, which says absolutely nothing about him other than he informs people of things that may be of interest to them.
  5. Feel the rhythm Feel the ride Get on up It's Panthers NFC Championship time KEEP POUNDING!!!
  6. He's talking about the Seahawks internal clock, I'd imagine. If they had an 0730 EST wake-up, it would be equivalent to an 0430 PST wake-up.
  7. Haven't seen Stewart in a while? Have I just missed him, or is he injured?
  8. Hard to overrate four titles in seven seasons.
  9. Making a Murderer (spoilers inside)

I am currently on my second assignment as a criminal defense attorney after also having served as one of the Air Force's 17 senior prosecutors. My wife and I watched Making A Murderer, and I simply do not know how Avery was convicted.  I left the above part of your quote there, because I wanted to address the notion in it. You are absolutely right that a person does not have to prove his or her innocence. Under our Constitution, a person is presumed innocent, and that presumption is overcome only when the Government proves his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, which brings me to my second point.  A person is not required to prove reasonable doubt in any way, shape, or form. If I felt confident that the facts of a case contained holes, I could not say a single thing during the evidence portion of a court-martial, and my client could still be acquitted. It is always, always the Government's job to do the proving, and in each case, that is supposed to include proving away any and every real possibility of non guilt raised by the evidence. Unfortunately, I think our justice system is at the point where the fact finders begin thinking the Accused probably did it before they ever hear one iota of evidence simply based on the fact that he or she is in a courtroom. Sad.
  10. 15-1... Jimmy J says we ain't Seattle

I feel the same way. I was simply pointing out that Seattle is not the hottest team in the league right now. Based on Seattle's performance over the past few years, they are currently the most talked up team in the NFL. It is extremely ridiculous though that the Panthers single loss of the season to a divisional rival playing their Super Bowl knocked the Panthers down so much in the public perception whereas the Seahawks sixth loss of the season to a divisional rival did not do anywhere near the same to the Seahawks. In fact, Seattle has been given a pass for the loss, which is dumbfounding.
  11. 15-1... Jimmy J says we ain't Seattle

    KC says hello.
  12. Let's talk Cardinals...

The crux of my argument is not "they have not beaten anyone." My point is simply meant to show that the Cardinals have not been so dominate as to put them in a class of "they are going to beat the Panthers like a drum." I get that their style of offense can exploit the way the Panthers defense has been playing. I get their defense plays fast and aggressive. I am simply saying, those facts alone, do not make them world beaters, and their performances across the season show that. Again, my argument is about domination, not who have they beat. Those two arguments are different.
  13. Let's talk Cardinals...

    Same with GB.
  14. Let's talk Cardinals...

I get that the Cardinals beat Philly and GB by a greater margin of victory. I am simply saying that Arizona is not a flawless team. They have been beaten twice, which shows their offense and defense are not the greatest things since sliced bread. Yes, those losses were some time ago, but they are still losses that this Arizona Cardinals team took. The fact that they only scored 13 against the Steelers does not mean their offense sucks, which has been borne out by the rest of the season. Regarding the Panthers, the fact that they gave up a big lead against the Giants and lost to the Falcons does not mean their offense and defense suck. First, to lose a big lead, you have to acquire a big lead. Regardless of the 13 points scored against the Falcons, the Panthers have shown the ability to score with anyone, hence their scoring offense ranking. Over the course of the season, the defense has also shown the ability to stop the other team when needed on far more occasions than not. I am not saying the Panthers would blow the Cardinals out of the building. I just don't get all the people saying the opposite. Like I said, the Cardinals are a really good team, but if/when they play the Panthers, they will have to be another really good team to advance.
  15. Let's talk Cardinals...

Man, you all sound like a bunch of scared pansies. The Cardinals have a great record (still not as good as the Panthers), but they haven't dominated a grueling schedule either. They've beaten ONE really good team (CIN by a field goal) and THREE fairly good teams (SEA, GB, and MIN). They also have a blowout of PHI. However, as referenced above, they have lost more games than CAR.  The Cardinals are not the '85 Bears. They are not the mid-90's Packers. They're not the early 2000's Patriots. They're a really good team who will have to beat a really good team if/when they play the Panthers.
