KB might have not been 'elite' at this point, but he could he could draw a double team and is physical enough to win jump balls. Having a guy like him opens other guy underneath to wreak havoc underneath. He's no Megatron (yet) but losing him does hurt the receiving core a lot. Add that to Funch with a nagging hamstring, and it's not great. I don't know if there is enough available to fix the issue, but I don't think we have the luxury of sitting on potential right now.
Small price to pay and hope for the best. If this is for a one week audition to see what he's got, I'm all for it. If the staff is already planning on him making the team over a guy that's had a solid preseason like Boykin...that's more disappointing. It'll be interesting to see how they play them against the Steelers. Seems really late to bring in a guy with his experience that won't get any game reps with Cam.
Yeah, after a promising start, this team has been horrible after the all star break. Between the trades and injuries, they turned out right where I think we thought they would be. Sending Gomes in to pitch last night was the ultimate topper on this season. The most baffling of all is Gonzales got extended during all this. If they really consider keeping him around for the 2017 season, I don't think it will be as fun as originally anticipated.
Not giving Boykin time with the 1's seems pretty telling.
He may be one of our best receivers (which may not say much), but this staff seems pretty loyal to guys like Brown and Bersin. Even with the preseason he's had, it looks like it going to be tough to make the roster...which is probably a mistake on our part. Cotchery won't be cut.
Bersin hasn't done anything to lose a roster spot, but Brown has me worried. He showed a lot of potential last year, but those mental problems can be hard to overcome.
