Not really worth arguing over, it was a trade. Yes for a rather inconsequential pick, but our GM obviously felt it was not worth waiting on him to be cut, and someone else possibly picking him up before us. So he made a move. Add in the familiarity they have with him going back to the draft with Ricky Proehl, that obviously says that he has a certain level of confidence in Norwood's ability to contribute. I would put the "possibility" of him being cut at less than 1% right now. Now the TE, and RB position groups are a whole different story altogether. There are some tough decisions coming there.
After recently seeing a CMPD officer walk away a free man after shooting an unarmed civilian 10 times who had just been in a car accident merely for approaching the officer, I'm not in a big hurry to go celebrate for a BBQ cookout. We need serious reform in this country. There are plenty of good cops, but there are many more poorly trained cops who should not be carrying a firearm. The cops caught in between are either willing participants, or merely unwilling to get involved in exposing these problems because of fear of being ostracized by their peers because of a heavily flawed brotherhood mentality that has been allowed to fester for decades, effectively destroying just about all trust between police, and civilians.
I don't see how any real fan can desperately clamor for success, and respect in this league, yet at the same time poo on their own players for no reason. Bersin has earned his role here. If he had played college ball at a big name school instead of Wofford, the same people would be all on his jock hyping him up.
So I guess you and others here who have been shitposting about groups like police brutality protestors (excuse me, "rioters"), and black lives matter because of a few idiots will be immediately changing your tunes then right?
You know we are making real progress as a country when the first thing an actual human being can come up with in response to a white police officer openly being part of the Ku Klux Klan is "Well what about the Black Panthers?".
Cam Newton having the gall to post a group photo with his friends on vacation: "Possible gang affiliation? They must be up to no good, bad image for one of the faces of the franchise." Rob Gronkowski repeatedly in pictures drunk with his buddies: "Crickets."
Well, a judge ordered her to be jailed until she complies with the court ruling. I don't see the point of it personally. All this will do is make her a martyr of sorts to other bigots who support her flawed beliefs. I'm sure there is already a gofundme being set up in her name, which will of course funnel thousands of dollars from gullible people just wanting to stick it to gay marriage.
The brotherhood "keep quiet" mentality within police departments that shields this sort of thing is very real, and concerning. Also, the reality of situations like this finally being brought to the forefront these days makes one wonder just how common this may have been in years past before the prevalence of social media. Which in turn directly places everything we thought we knew about our police departments in doubt. It's truly sad.
