  1. You can't make some sort of argument based on a chance event like the Draft with what-ifs. Had we not rescinded the tag, random chips might've fallen differently. Or, Gettleman doesn't give a fug, was never going to extend Norman for a ridiculous sum, and was drafting the plumber regardless.
  2. Tom Hackett is really good. (He went to Utah, btw) I would be happy to get an effective punter who can really change the field when called upon.
  3. poo like this is why the Panthers subreddit is starting to look more and more appealing.
  4. The same thing that's gone through his mind for years: "Thank God I have Cam Newton or I wouldn't have a job."
  5. Presser at 3pm

^A mini-tornado spun into the room, but couldn't get around the chair near the door. FTFY
  6. Presser at 3pm

*Three seconds after conference* Butler: "Who was that idea asking questions?" Gettleman: "Which one?" Butler: "The one with the goofy hair and the slides with socks?" Gettleman: "That was Joe Person, Butler, and be careful when you say his name. Word has it, if you say it three times in a row, he'll appear from a hallway and walk in to you while looking at his phone."
  7. Rapoport: Panthers Looking at Quarterbacks

I would expect us to find someone in the later rounds to be the back-up so that when DA leaves, we'll have an immediate plug in and play guy. I'm thinking Dak Prescott, but if they're considering Braxton Miller a "QB" still... Well, I could easily see us taking Braxton in a heartbeat.
  8. Norman beat Gettleman at poker? You mean the guy who essentially replaced his agent because of what happened? The guy who was begging Gettleman to take him back at a lower cost, even though the paperwork had already been filed? Yeah, that dude didn't beat anyone at poker. The reality is that Norman wasn't ever going to be here long term in the sense that everyone thought. Gman wanted at least one more good season out of him, but then just decided it wasn't worth the headache anymore.
  9. Falcons Fans: Carolina Gets It

'Panthers are a problem'. No way, really? We've only won three NFC South titles in a row, and we just in the Super Bowl.
  10. Carolina Panthers select DT Vernon Butler

I would like to see a RB tomorrow. Preferably Booker.
  11. Carolina Panthers select DT Vernon Butler

I'm okay with it. I'm not super mega thrilled, but I'm not going against Gettleman. As the draft unfolded, I was hoping that Jack would be the pick because omg. But, meh.
  12. Jaylon Smith?

The difference would be that Brandon Hogan was brought in assuming that he'd be able to play pretty quickly, at a position we needed someone to play at. Smith would be essentially money in the bank for us, not really counting on him, but holding his rights in case he's healthy.
  13. Ruff's Singular Mock

Here's my annual 'no one cares about your mock' mock draft. This time, instead of the normal giant write up I do when I go through these mocks (seriously, look at my post history in the NFL Draft section to see some insanely detailed offseason/mock drafts), I'm going to be doing a Who I Think We'll Pick, Who We Could Pick, and a Surprise Pick. Without further ado, here we go. FIRST ROUND - PICK 30 Who I Think We'll Pick: Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Ok State University Who We Could Pick: Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas Surprise Pick: Jason Spriggs, OT, Indiana SECOND ROUND - PICK 63 Who I Think We'll Pick: Braxton Milller, WR, THE Ohio State Who We Could Pick: Artie Burns, CB, The U Surprise Pick: Devontae Booker, RB, Utah THIRD ROUND - PICK 93 Who I Think We'll Pick: Max Tuerk, C, USC Who We Could Pick: Sheldon Day, DT, Notre Dame Surprise Pick: Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame FOURTH ROUND - PICK 129 Who I Think We'll Pick: Aldophus Washington, DT, THE Ohio State Who We Could Pick: Trevor Davis, WR, Cal Surprise Pick: Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State FIFTH ROUND - PICK 168 Who I Think We'll Pick: DeAndre Washington, RB, Texas Tech Who We Could Pick: Travis Feeney, OLB, Washington Surprise Pick: Tom Hackett, P, Utah SEVENTH ROUND - PICK 252 Who I Think We'll Pick: Ian Wells, CB, Ohio Who We Could Pick: Soma Vainuku, FB, USC Surprise Pick: Ross Martin, K, Duke

My most coveted player is Hargreaves, but that ain't happening.
