  1. For anyone uninterested in the fifth round...

Walterfootball actually likes our draft more than many...he's given us A, C, B grades in the 3 rounds so far. That's part of what makes me skeptical about our draft.
  2. For anyone uninterested in the fifth round...

heh np. I learned something myself accumulating the links and quotes for that reply, I had been thinking it was the Eagles that gave a comp pick when it was actually the Browns that gave the comp pick.
  3. For anyone uninterested in the fifth round...

    Yes. Yes you can.
  4. Day 3 - Reasonable to expect a Punter

I mean sure, if no one I'm interested in is there a Punter would be fine. But I'm holding out hope we can get Booker or Collins. Cash or P. Cooper would be nice too.
  5. The Panthers Have a 5th and 7th Round Pick Left

Yea, the value on that trade was great. I almost think Gettleman Jedi mind tricked the Browns into not realizing swapping 5ths would move them down so much...
  6. Day 3 - Reasonable to expect a Punter

Meh, with the impact our draft class is shaping up to have I'd rather just get an UDFA punter for competition. We need to nail our remaining draft picks.
  7. Saw this quote on PFT and it almost makes the pick worthwhile to me just to imagine Gettleman saying it: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/04/30/panthers-go-beyond-due-diligence-on-third-round-cornerback/
  8. Pie for the bolded part. Cardinals draft and our draft are about the same. They just got one fewer CB. And actually needed a player like Nkemdiche.
  9. Panthers working out WVU Corner... oh Squirrel....

He was a projected 2nd or 3rd round pick.
  10. For anyone uninterested in the fifth round...

I would like Cash (but not over Booker or Collins). I WOULD have liked Miller if we hadn't already taken those two CBs we already took.
  11. For anyone uninterested in the fifth round...

Eagles already did it. This has been discussed ad nauseum here. You can trade a future comp pick with the condition that if you don't get what you expect to, you give a different pick (for example, our actual 3rd round pick). And Gettleman seems to be playing FA right now with the intent on maintaining that 3rd round comp pick we're set to get for Norman. Doubt he picks anyone up before the 12th.
  12. For anyone uninterested in the fifth round...

    I'm 100% sure you can. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14274468/nfl-owners-ok-compensatory-pick-trading-2017
  13. For anyone uninterested in the fifth round...

I would absolutely like to trade our 3rd round comp next year to move back up into the 4th. The comp pick is near the 4th round anyway, and I would really like a guy out of this draft I feel can make an impact in year 1. Butler is a maaaaaaybe, but he's still an unknown commodity behind two guys already on the bench in Soliai and Love who have played very well either for us (Love) or other teams (Soliai). I really want Devontae Booker or Alex Collins and I don't feel good about them lasting to our pick in the 5th... Trade next year's comp, next year's 7 and this year's 7 if it'll add anything. Toss in next year's 6 if it'll help. Gettleman doesn't value those late picks anyway.
  14. I reallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreally want Gettleman to trade our 3rd round comp next year and 7th this year for Booker or Collins. Booker looks great and Utah's never let us down, but if his medical scares us I really like Collins too. Booker looks like a 3 down guy that can be a bellcow if we needed it. Collins looks a little more specialized, but would be a great compliment to Wegher. (Not quite giving up on CAP yet, but he showed us nothing last year, and doesn't fit any specific role as far as I can tell. Not a bellcow, not a scatback, not a power back really, just an average JOATMON).
