  1. There's a weird Cam cult on the Huddle now and that leads to moronic thread titles like this.
  2.   Fess up, which one of you guys wrote this?
  3. My take on the Cam Newton fumble.

All I know is that in that moment, he made a split second risk/reward decision and he decided what he decided. He said as much to us. Instead, we're trying to make excuses as to why he did what he did as if the man didn't tell us exactly why.
  4. My take on the Cam Newton fumble.

I'm asserting he didn't dive because he didn't want to get hurt which is exactly what he said.
  5. Harper and Cotchery already gone?

He's white and from Charlotte like a lot of people on the Huddle, so they want him to succeed. I get it, but he sucks and we can do better.
  6. My take on the Cam Newton fumble.

I don't question his toughness as a player, I'm questioning it in that one play. Cam did a lot of other uncharacteristic things all game long that surprised me too: errant throws, played with no joy even in the first quarter when it was still close, ran like he was stuck in molasses, got up to the line of scrimmage very slowly.........these are all things that are not Cam Newton. Why all these things happened, I have no idea. I have no idea what happened to the offense period. Cam is tough, he's a good passer, he's fast and plays with joy...........he just didn't do those things in this game. That's all I'm saying.
  7. My take on the Cam Newton fumble.

The film doesn't lie guys. It looks like he didn't want to dive and he literally told the media he didn't dive because he was afraid of injuring his leg. You can come up with all the homer reasons to excuse it all you want, but I suggest reading up on Occam's razor.
  8. My take on the Cam Newton fumble.

Here's Cam's exact quote as to why he didn't dive. Not a single person on here believes we would have driven down and made it 17-16 if he recovers the ball, but there was still a CHANCE. If you're not willing to risk a leg injury needing a touchdown with not much time left in the 4th quarter of a Super Bowl, when are you? Not the end of the world, but it feels pretty homerish to excuse not diving:   I don’t dive on one fumble because the way my leg was, it could have been (contorted) in a way.”
  9. My take on the Cam Newton fumble.

The biggest problem people understandably have with Cam not jumping on that ball for fear of hurting his leg is the following picture. You can't be on the same team as Thomas Davis and be afraid of hurting your leg when trying to still have a chance at a Super Bowl:
  10. Harper and Cotchery already gone?

Cotchery has played his last down in the NFL. You don't come through with that many drops in the Super Bowl and sign with another team if you're Jerricho Cotchery.
  11. He's made the occasional good tackle here and there this year, but... - He basically never sees the field on defense - Led the team in idiotic penalties this year - Was the biggest reason (along with Jacobs) why that Broncos punt returner was able to run it into field goal range   A lot has been said about the failings of the tackles, Cotchery, Tolbert, and even Cam in the Super Bowl; but I haven't seen one word about Teddy Williams. The guy's suckage flies under the radar in a Charles Godfrey-like manner. I really hope he's not back on the team next year, big mistake to keep him on the 53-man roster after preseason.
  12. Anyone greeting the team back home

Spoilers: This will just make things harder for them. It's not like they don't know we love them. And I'd be damned before I went out and applauded for Mike Remmers, Mike Tolbert, Michael Oher, and Jerricho Cotchery.
  13. Cam was let down by his offense

The only person on offense that shouldn't be hanging their head today is Philly Brown. He didn't have any drops, did he?    To the Cam defenders: He looked rattled, was moving VERY slowly the entire game both during plays and between plays, he didn't dive for the ball when we still had a chance to win the game, and he was terrible on a lot of his throws. That is not excusing the pathetic play of the offensive line, the running backs, and most receivers; but if you think Cam played well, you are mistaken. He didn't even play average, he was bad. That doesn't mean he didn't deserve MVP, that doesn't mean I'm a Cam hater, but it's going to be revisionist history to say Cam played well last night. It felt like an early 2012 game from Cam.
  14. You don't think things would have been different if the Super Bowl had been held in Atlanta instead? Get out of here clown.
  15. Yes, he's bragged many times about being a rich doctor. Good for him, that's great, but don't go scolding other people for not flying from Charlotte to Santa Clara and spending $10,000+ on tickets.
