The connection between both the Bobcats massive failure payrolled team and this one is MJ. While I agree a clean slate is probably best, Cho did manage some amazing trades to start the rebuild. Then suddenly the name change happened and the Hornets went from building to trying to become a contender using the same mistakes of the last big payrolled failure bobcats team.
Getting rid of Lance isn't worth giving up a 1st round pick at any point when the ceiling without him was a first round exit in the playoffs.
Getting rid of a first round pick to get rid of overpaid players isn't worth it when you're rebuilding "which the Hornets are doing, even if they or the fans don't see it yet" isnt the way to go unless you're getting something worthwhile back.
So yes, expect to suck again next season because Lance, Jefferson and Kemba are untradable without giving up something major or taking garbage back.
Depending on how Vonleh develops, MKG is probably the only starter on the whole team. I see PJ as a 6th man type of player. Zeller and Biz are front court backups that come in and hustle. Kemba is a 4th/5th option on a good team and a 6th man on a championship team.
I said it when the team started signing free agents with Jefferson that they were only building the playoff 8th seed bobcats again.
Time to blow it up again and bar MJ from having any say on basketball related decisions.
Then again I hated the Jefferson signing and called it short sighted.
