  1. Someone sell me on why Butler was a good pick?

That's the difference in views then. You'd like a defensive end or wideout or even offensive lineman who may or may not be an improvement over the current crop, but gives you no real feeling he could be an every down dominant player that another player at a position of lesser need has a greater potential to be over the course of the contract. I guess in that case go with the player you like in the short term improvement. It be a shame to be drafting over him a year or two down the road for the same reason. This is simply a case of getting a player you really like in the draft, and different people are gonna have different opinions until there is a reflection of body of work. While Ogbah and Dodd could be solid players I have no problem with Gentleman, a man rich in experience and dedication to football scouting, taking a player who he likes better.
  2. Someone sell me on why Butler was a good pick?

Here's another... Butler could end up better than both star and kk. Shouldn't expect it, but can't rule it out either. Plus the kid is Panther all day.
  3. Bradberry given JNo's number

The Bradberry pick makes me think Giannis Antetokoumpo. Everyone was all whodafug, when it turned out some team did a little extra research and landed the best player in the class at pick 15. Which at the time 15 even seemed like a huge reach. Bobcats drafted Zeller at 4 that year.
  4. Panthers Tango with Cash

This is huge IMO. Fantastic teammate, willing contributor, prolific college career. I would be very surprised if this kid can't crack 46. I could see him doing what Boston has been doing the last few years before becoming a major contributor on defense in the next season or so.
  5. Love the picks!

    Velasco signed with bills
  6. Carolina Panthers select DT Vernon Butler

Potentially one of the best players in the class. Why all the fuss? The guy is big enough to be a true nose, but athletic enough to line up multiple fronts. And we nabbed him at 30. He embarrasses olinemen tossing them around as he seeks the football to make plays up and down the line of scrimmage. He's strong enough with enough reach to swallow blockers and collapse pockets. He plays with a high motor, seems like a stand up dude and wants to play here. If you know how we approach the draft and understand the philosophical construct of the team under DG how does this pick not make all the sense in the world? Welcome aboard Big Vern!
  7. Chris Gamble to announce 2nd round pick

    Obviously going corner there
  8. Either way hes a former 3x division champ. Maybe he'll get another, but i aint sweating him getting to the bowl next year. He knows where that road rides through. Hope he finds his way around the visitors locker room alright.
  9. Insert Normans quote on how the redskins competed all game against us last year.. /thread
  10. Ladies and Gentlemen, Kendall Fuller

Cb may the least valued position on the roster. Maybe ahead of punter. But defiantly not ahead of 3rd string qb
  11. Panthers rescind Norman's franchise tag...

This is as player friendly as you can be as a gm. The panthers and normans camp have been in negotiations for ages now. We couldn't get a deal done so we tagged him in hopes that something would get done. After this much time the two sides arent any closer. Gettleman grants norman the freedom to sign a long term deal with a team at 28 y/o as oppose to risking playing a year and hitting the market sniffing 30. To think this is a slight against norman is ridiculous. Ball is in his court to do whatever he wants. We noe have the cap freedom to deal with our younger core players. While we are obviously worst on paperwith one less all pro we are in a better position financially to secure long term success. Josh wins because now hes free to play for that 16 mil a year he may or may not be worth to somebody. Its not the panthers so good luck to him. We have playmakers. Norman said it best. Our best 22 will line up against their best 22. Itll be fun. We will be fine.
  12. Cam Newton: #lateN1GHTsessionPERFECT1NGtheCRaft

    We gotta resign Norman
  13. Josh Norman/OBJ Feud Re-Ignited

Twitter beef is no more or less than any beef there is. If you end up with feels you should probably focus on getting over it asap. Im just hopeful we can work a deal with Josh and he continues to ball out for us.
  14. William Jackson III

He doesn't have Norman's ball skills, but a playmaker no doubt. Would rather nab him in the mid-late second.
  15. Coples to Rams

Quinn and Coples are very tight
