True, a dangerous job, but I fear the edginess and lack of trust are gonna further exacerbate the issues.
This would be a good time for leadership in the country to bring the two together, or at least that is what I think

You seem to remember things like you want them, whether they happened or not.  You are the same adolescent that said the same thing about all the racist things I said in the Trayvon threads and it turned out that you were full of crap, as usual.  As far as calling them pigs, check with Mr Cantrell.  "people remember"

Another Officer killed at a traffic stop
    http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/story/29688637/memphis-police-officer-shot-and-killed-during-a-traffic-stop
Lots of you won't care that this happened because it will serve no political point for you, and, some will be happy that another pig got what was coming to him and others will want to just pull cops away from areas and let people fend for themselves.
But, this happening, in my opinion, will only serve to make traffic stops even more contentious.  Every time a cop is killed like this, every captain warns his guys to take no chances and to be vigilant.  How that plays out is not always perfect.  But losing their 3rd cop in 4 years on this particular force is going to have an effect
This obviously does not give cops license to do something illegal, but they are not operating in a vacuum.  When they come up on a stop and are nervous, for whatever reason, and, the people in the cars decide they are gonna be social, disrespect experiments, then..., well it is just not gonna work well.  These are the recipes for trouble.  An untrusting public and a suspicious police force.  Most police forces have decent people and most of the public are not suspects in anything.  But, the pulling apart by the public and police is gonna get worse if the attitudes of both cannot change.
How do you achieve a coming toward each other?
I know this normally just gets both sides to axe grinding, but solutions and ideas might be a better use of time

Twylight did not post in either thread.

I had only about 4 replies in the whole thread, a couple of them not even pertaining to Zimmerman Martin.  But, maybe this is the one you are talking about.

In my opinion, if you get outside the lines of carry/conceal, then you are no different than anyone else.
Zimmerman should have just took his whooping and walked away. The community should not have allowed someone with a lack of training/understanding/control to be in a position like this. His vehicle should have been identified as security at a minimum so that Martin would have known who he was dealing with.
I take carry/conceal very serious and don't want some zealot screwing it up by going outside the lines. Prosecution, however, needs to not be pressured to over reach and then lose, which be a shame.

Maybe you should post some excerpts from the Trayvon thread along with the ones posting here.

This probably makes a connection with the fan base far beyond the lights of a football stadium.  Good stuff

About worn out with the faux rage.

If the guy committed a crime, the prosecute him.  If not, then move on and pass some law if it makes you feel better.

The pecker measuring, social media, "I hate him more then you do" game, is wearing thin
