Extension for Williams not even close

In today's NFL RT is as important as LT. Teams are changing their rushing philosophies and not pressuring the LT as much as years past. They've switched it up and are coming straight at that RT. In the Saints wild card game Williams was worked bad. Kalil didn't give a single sack and only a couple if pressures. Cam Jordan moved to the right side and worked Williams. I don't think he's a bad RT but he's not top money worthy either.
  2. I think it's a wonderful concept. Norv would be the guy to implement something like this into his system.
  3. He's gotta have a solid camp.

    Matt "Speed bump McGee" Kalil..

We had Jordan Gross for so long so I understand why people have high expectations on Matt. There should be high expectations. But to sit there and just be tearing this guy down when he's NOT that bad.. Jesus christ you'd think we have up a first round pick for the guy. There's also an option to let him go next year if he doesn't perform well. Gettleman knew what he was doing, so Matt can't really eat so much money and underperform. His first year wasn't great but it wasn't this horror show people say it was. He was average to above average and in the playoffs was amazing. 2 pressures the whole game. Daryl Williams got worked.

    Matt "Speed bump McGee" Kalil..

"more of a passing team" I should clarify that. The percentage will go up, we will be passing more often than last year. I can guarantee you that.

    Matt "Speed bump McGee" Kalil..

Watching Coaches film isn't a good enough medium to evaluate a player, basically what you're saying. So the end of year film study that several teams do to evaluate a player is a waste of time.. Jesus some of you just want to be right even if it's in your own mind.

    Matt "Speed bump McGee" Kalil..

Seeing as we're about to become a passing team with Norv.. I feel quite fine with Matt.

    Matt "Speed bump McGee" Kalil..

This is a good question, I'll have to ask the person that did the break down how much Norwell influenced this. if at all.

Is this your product of choice that you use on yourself?
  10. I've been seeing a lot of huddlers here tear down Matt Kalil like he's the worst left tackle in the NFL. Frankly getting tired of it. But well the huddle is gonna huddle. The following information if from a person that has access to coaches film and did a break down of every game Matt played in including the Saints playoffs game.. Props for Kevin A. For this information and thank you for your time on doing this. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Matt Kalil gave up 35 pressures and 5 sacks this season. In weeks 2, 3 and 7 he gave up 17 pressures and 5 sacks. So if you exclude the Buffalo, Bears and the first Saints game, you're looking at 18 pressures and 0 sacks. So basically he had 3 horrible games which killed his PFF rating. Outside of that he was solid. In the playoffs "Speed bump McGee" gave up only 2 pressures. That was the best among all of our lineman except for Trai. Sounds like Saints DE Cam Jordan was salty that Matt was working his ass. In fact, Jordan moved to the right side where he started working RT Daryl Williams because M. Kalil wasn't having it. Matt Kalil had less penalties and less penalty yards than Nate Solder of the Patriots who many of y'all wanted in free agency. Lane Johnson of the Eagles had 10 penalties - Matt only had 7. ------------------------------------------------- So there it is. That's your "Speed bump McGee" last year.

    Cameron Newton

I'm used to him smiling that million dollar smile but this shot really shows he's all business.
  12. I'm just gonna hope we run more bootlegs. Please Norv, more bootlegs. As far as not having enough speed WR. Byrd, Samuel, Smith, even Moore would be a speed WR. As far as offensive line being bad. Y'all need to read articles and do some research to see we've had a top ten offensive line.. Without Kalil. You don't have a bad line with the Guards we've had who make pro bowls, all pros, second team all American either. Hell Matt Kalil wasn't that bad last year either. Matt Kalil gave up 35 pressures and 5 sacks this season. In weeks 2, 3 and 7 he gave up 17 pressures and 5 sacks. So if you exclude the Buffalo, Bears and the first Saints game, you're looking at 18 pressures and 0 sacks. So basically he had 3 horrible games which killed his PFF rating. Now that he is fully recovered from the rehab of hip alignment surgery I expect a strong solid 2018 season.

Is having a #1 WR overrated in the modern NFL?

I think what people need to realize is that Greg Olsen has always been the #1 receiver for Cam. Even when Smith was here Cam spread that ball around, Greg has always been his go to guy.
