  1. Tryout Invitations (OP updated May 5)

Also, Samford runs the Auburn/Gus Malzahn offense, so he should be familiar with the parts of the Shula offense that he implemented from the Malzahn playbook.
  2. Let's play pick two running backs

That's a good point and I have nothing against Wegher and would LOVE to see the kid become a beast. I was only responding to the idea that a guy who gets 4+ yards per carry in the NFL regular season is MEH and a guy who never got a carry but did some good stuff against players that couldn't make an NFL squad is LOVED.
  3. Let's play pick two running backs

CAP played against NFL regular season starters and averaged over 4 yards per carry. Wegher didn't get a single regular season carry. He did, however, look pretty good against players that didn't make NFL rosters in the 2nd half of preseason games.
  4. Let's play pick two running backs

Is this an urban myth I and everyone else has just come to believe? Because the two stat sites that I've checked show CAP with just one fumble (and that was in the post-season and the stats indicate that the fumble wasn't lost). No regular season fumbles are indicated. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/ArtiCa00.htm http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/car/stats/ http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/car/stats/?season=2015_3 Did he have fumbles in last year's preseason that gave us this impression?
  5. Let's play pick two running backs

CAP and Wegher because (1) they are both younger and (2) Fozzy has a tendency toward injury and that's a bad thing to have behind our Stewie. I think CAP proved last year in very few opportunities that he has pretty good vision and knows what to do with the ball in this offense. If he's worked hard and improved his ability in the passing game, he can slot right into the back-up RB position replacing Fozzy. Oh, and even though he didn't make a habit of it, he put the ball on the ground twice (I think, recovering one) and he needs to stop doing that.
  6. Would a Tennessee Titans RB > Fozzy/CAP/Wegher

Please explain how any one of them are more talented. Artis-Payne, in his few opportunities, averaged 4.1 ypc and a 45-1 carries-per-TD ratio in 2015. Whitaker in his few opportunities averaged 4.3 ypc and a 25-1 carries-to-TD ration. Cobb? 2.8, 52-1 Sankey? 3.6, 47-1 Andrews? 3.6. 48-1 I ain't seeing the greater talent. Were they more talented in college? I dunno, but CAP was the SEC's leading rusher in 2014. Most yards in the toughest college conference in the land. Hard to show more "talent" than that. (Looking at Cobb's college stats they are comparable. But better? Nah.)
  7. Than picking Amini Silatolu instead of Cordy Glenn? Discuss. :)
  8. Sorry. Gettlemens Draft This Year Blows

The thing is, we lost a number of games that year in the same way we COULD have lost 2 or 3 this year if this year's team hadn't been sooooooooooooo much better. Went into a second half shell and in 2012 it costs us plenty... in 2015 it just puckered our butts but we held on and pulled through. Same ol' Ron strategy though... lead is plenty big, lets play it safe and play defense. Ron still hasn't realized that, unlike the 1980's, teams can score two sometime 3 touchdowns in minutes in today's NFL if all you're gonna do is lay back and let'em score.
  9. The linked article actually DOES state a past QB that makes an excellent comparison as college players entering their rookie year.
  10. About those corners...

    The Ukraine, I think. :P
