  1. 39 pages because we cut a guy who never played a down as a Panther. All these couch GMs throwing Gettleman under the bus and declaring Boykin the second coming of Deion when 4 teams have let him go in the last year and he can't even make the Falcons 90 man squad. So many here like to bitch just to bitch.
  2. Exactly, Boykin sat untouched in free agency for weeks before we even signed him and now two weeks later nobody is still signing him to their 90 person rosters? It's pathetic the poor sky is falling attitude some have around here, especially about a player that never played a down as a Panther.

Exactly, and KB's production had to be redistributed across the remaining recievers/Olsen. In that environment, which would have been his best chance for most success, Brown only managed 447 yards. While I don't think he's necessarily a bad receiver, he possess average speed, no size and no explosiveness or ability to break tackles. I would rather roll with Benji and Funch as the starting two, Garrett as our 4 and Ginn at the 3 util we can find someone who is a younger more ideal slot. If you have that 5th spot, I rather it go to Hill who has elite speed/size and was once upon a time supposed to be the Jets #1 of the future. If he can be our 5, I think we're in good shape.

Read my post before you try to argue a point. I said Funchess did not receive very many minutes until the end of the season. 7 of his 31 catches came in week 17. Brown started almost every game. You're arguing my point exactly, there are only so many passes to go around. Brown only had 447 yards when he was starting almost every game. If you put Benji on the field and increase Funchess' snaps, that's far fewer snaps for Brown and fewer times he will be targeted. He would have been lucky to break 100 yards, because Benji would have had close to 1,000, and those have to come from somewhere.

True enough, he did have a couple big catches in the Super Bowl. But also true is he only had 447 yards last season while playing starter minutes. This was without Kelvin playing the entire season and with Funchess not seeing any minutes till the last few games. Would he have even broken 100 yards this season if Kelvin hadn't gotten hurt?

If Hill can pull it together, we're going to have to make some tough decisions. I would be on board with keeping 6, Benji, Funchess, Hill, Byrd and Ginn and hopefully Garrett can be retained on the practice squad. I just don't think Philly is that good or brings much to the table, and neither does Bersin. The Broncos showed the game plan to beat us, and what we need is more speed/players that can't be single covered.
  7. Shaq Thompson Involved In Head on Collision

I'm not sure what you mean. All I know is in general, it makes logical sense to swerve the opposite direction of the incoming driver, not in the same direction as the incoming vehicle.
  8. Shaq Thompson Involved In Head on Collision

While obviously Shaq was at fault because he crossed over the line, it sounds like the other drive tried to serve left(AKA into Shaq's lane) to avoid him, rather then swerving right? Sounds like that is at some fault to the other driver as well, but would have to see pictures of the accident to see how far Shaq was into his lane and how much of a median there was on the side of the road. Doesn't make sense to try and switch lanes with the other driver.
  9. Shaq Thompson Involved In Head on Collision

I laugh when someone is imagining his night of drinking ending with him in bed at 2:00 AM. More then likely, stayed out drinking till 3-4 and was driving back from a cleat chaser's house, very easy to be still partially intoxicated just a couple hours later. I'm more worried about both parties health then already judging Shaq.
  10. Antonio Cromartie wants to come to Carolina

You're mixing up technique and scheme. How to tackle, how to time your jump for an incoming pass, proper footwork in your back peddle and breaking on certain routes, and things like the peanut punch are techinique, which will stay the same no matter what defense you're playing in. These are things he would need once he no longer runs a 4.3 and can simply use his superior speed as a crutch. Speed can hide a lot of poor technique, and 2014 is a long time ago when you're talking about a player who's over 30. I you never played sports, you don't understand.
  11. Bill Barnwell's NFC South Offseason Report Card

But but but but we cut Brandon Boykin, the best nickel corner in the NFL according to some random writer 2 years ago. F-!
  12. Antonio Cromartie wants to come to Carolina

Lol, the things I hear around here are hilarious sometimes. Cromartie has been in the league 10 years now, if technique is so easily learned, I'm pretty sure it would have been done so by now. Not to mention his athleticism has fallen off as well, you don't make a project out of a 32 year old.
  13. They seemed to see a lot in Marlowe, I wouldn't be surprised to see him be that third, heavy rotation guy. Also, I can see us picking up a vet during cuts in August.
  14. Panthers Release Boykin

No many cancerous negative idiots. If you've ever browsed a game day thread, you understand the pathetic, negative mentality of many of the posters here. Team is up by 14 points, and people are berating Cam, Gettleman and Rivera for any bad play. Boykin has been let go by 3 teams, one way or another. He's 25, with barely any starting experience. He is not a storied vet that is going to teach the rookies anything. Bene has been in the league longer and has more playing time then Boykin, not to mention McClain. You don't get traded/cut/or let walk if you're a valuable player and 25 years old, end of story.
  15. Spot on. Without the Black and Blue tinted glasses, this is a fantastic idea. Stadiums are competing against the home experience which has so many advantages it's ridiculous. With 8 home games a year, making the game an event that's always sold out is #1 importance. The more competition for those seats the more they can charge for the ticket itself.
