As futher proof of this offseason. He made a call that only a blind man couldn't mess up. Ummm we need dt best dt falls....take him. lets not act like he hit on anything but star and short looks decent. So yea our draft wasnt outstanding c plus.

ok buddy. 1 draft he hit on 3 picks.

kk was one of the highest rated rookie dts, but yea he "looks decent" (klein was a great 5th round pick as evident from his limited snaps). you don't hit on all your picks, in fact everyone after the 3/4th round you shouldnt expect to start from day one.

1 fuging draft and 1 and a half offseasons and you act like hes a fuging idiot. talk about premature. one season 12-4. hey buddy how bout before you throw a temper tantrum you let things play out, see how the draft plays out and see how the season plays out before you make comments, you know like a rational adult.

I wish people would stop throwing out "12-4" in reference to Gettleman without showing the entire picture. The core that so many people talk about, he inherited from Hurney. Let's not forget that we started out 1-3, and if not for a big change in our head coach, and a big push from our players in support of Rivera with our veterans leading the way (two of which are gone, who we also currently have no replacements for) I have doubts that we would have went on a such a winning streak. Was the 2013 season the beginning of a new trend for this franchise? Or was it a flash in the pan? Who knows, but Gettleman has gambled big with the receiver position, and it will either make us or break us this season, that's all there is to it. I do not agree with any of this silliness about "he sucks", "he's an idiot", "fug him", etc. I like Gettleman for the most part, he still has plenty to prove though, and I can understand why some may be concerned.

that core was 6-10 and 7-9

if you don't think a boss can come in and change the culture and hold people responsible then you must have not been paying attention to how DG operated

saying "12-4" has much much more meaning behind just saying "12-4" i could make a list if you want, because i just got back from day drinking and i'm bored.

The huge undeniable variable from 6-10, to 7-9, to 12-4 was the change in philosophy from Rivera.

and remember those reports about a coaching search at the beginning of the season?

Gettleman came out and said those reports were completely false if I recall.

Bottom line, Rivera was simply a different coach when Hurney was here.

Many teams move up every year and reap the benefits of it. There's nothing Hurneyesque about the manuever.

Giving up picks is hurneyesque

i'm telling you. the way management is structured think about this. do you think they're not having talks after the start we had?

what do good bosses do? people just act like DG just draft players and sign FA and cut players. there is WAY WAY more to being a general manager then just that.

at 1-3 Rivera saw his job was in jeopardy and would probably never get another chance at a HC job, so he changed...Yeah I'm nervous about a lot of things with this team....

1, I hope Riverboat is coaching the team this year

2. Gettleman knows what he is doing. one year doesn't prove anything. We will see how good he really is when we get out of Hurney Hell

3. All the rest...

all in all I am optimistic about The Panthers/Rivera/Gettleman

when a GM is breaking down game tape with the other coaches (and his opinion is valued), i think we hit a homerun.

Of course they communicated, exactly what was said we will never know. In regards to the reports about a coaching search, I guess that comes down to what you personally believe. Gettleman doesn't strike me as a liar, but again, we were not present so who knows.

I certainly agree that there is way more to being a general manager than most fans know. All I was pointing out in regards to the record was that it was a lot of factors that lead us to 12-4. I'm anxiously awaiting the draft, nothing would make me happier than to land a stud WR and OT, we can only hope at this point.
