Being the degenerate that I am I love horse racing. I've always done well when I bet but I was wondering who others are pulling for this year?

I was in Vegas in '05 and very inibriated when they were about to close all bets.  Put $20 on Giacamo to win at 50 -1 and hit.  It was all gone by the end of the night tho =/

After much debate I'm going with Ride On Curlin. He makes Cam look out of shape

Ring Weekend has scratched from the Derby and Commanding Curve has been added.

Not betting on the derby, but gotta pull for Commanding Curve.

The uncle of a guy who works for me is one of the owners of Commanding Curve.....so, he is my now adopted Derby Horse.

Remember kids, a thoroughbred only has one chance in his life to win the Derby or even rarer the Triple Crown.

I'm going to Pimlico this weekend. Never been to a race other than one time attending the Georgia Steeplechase and that was basically just drinking at a tent - had nothing to do with the race. I don't know anything about horse racing. Here's hoping that I don't dress, act, sound, etc. like a complete weiner this weekend.

Haven't been to Churchill Downs in 16 years. Used to love the infield on derby day. if you want to win money you gotta work the odds. I always won more money betting on the preliminary races than I ever did on the actual derby though.

So, I decided to take a chance and put a bet on the long shot Commanding Curve. Sent it to CD with the guy who works for me. I put $500 on him just to make it interesting....paid $38 to show.

He came in 2nd and I just won almost $20k.

I am a happy camper

It was absolute destiny.

Uncle of the young kid I just hired as an FP&A Analyst was one of the owners of Commanding Curve.....and the jockey was a close personal friend with my boss (who used to live in Lousiville).

Too many ties to that horse not to take a run at a modest bet.

Had ZERO expectation of winning everything....horse was a huge longshot and had not really run that well all year.  He was only added because of an injury to another horse.
