Ashley Fox isn't a great writer. I mean I remember a few years ago before the divisionals she basically overlooked the Ravens saying they had no chance against Denver. The Ravens won the Super Bowl that year.

Of course we have the "y'all cam nuthuggers" posse chiming in

If you don't think Cam is a great talent or has proven himself less than he gets credit for, by all means go ahead and fantasize about Matt Moore playing QB for the panthers again.

Cam has talent around him. Has had talent around him. Will continue to have talent.

I do love the excuse that he's had no talent around him.

ESPN is really going downhill, listening to the Texans reporter yesterday on NFL Live was painful to listen too. I guess they're just trying to compete with the eye candy on NFLN. Yeah, lets bring in an inside reporter that knows absolutely nothing because she's semi pretty.

And this article is confusing as hell, I don't know what to take from it other than he should be more like Brady. Did the writer not watch the game last year where Cam led a 4th quarter comeback throwing the game winning TD's to Ginn, a guy whose career he helped resurrect. Did the writer not realize Cam broke the rookie record for passing with no OTA's, I guess he threw for all those yards outside the pocket, he actually threw for less yards from the pocket last year but he was more efficient. The writer implies the players around him elevated his play then acknowledges they were mediocre at best last year and are now all gone. Did Cam not help Smitty return to greatness after the Clausen year, has Olsen not had his best years under Cam.

If there was a year Cam deserved a little slack, this will be it since we are having to essentially rebuild the Offense. and like the writer noted we don't even have a #1 WR yet.

Are there still really people out there suggesting Cam still has something to prove?

He has carried an offense that hasn't quite been dripping with good players for 3 seasons now.

Lol at anybody who suggests otherwise.

Cam will always have something to prove in the minds of some people. It's unfortunate, but true.

Cam wins Super Bowl

"When will cam be able to cure children with cancer with the air displacement the sheer velocity of his passes create? We're waiting for you to step up, No. 1"

For real, its like they forgot how truly horrible this team was before he got here. We earned that draft pick.

The Colts went out of their way to lose and replace Manning with Luck. The Skins traded up for RGIII, the Hawks hit gold with Wilson in the 3rd.

We could be just like the Jags, Browns and Raiders if not for Cam. And its taken us two subsequent drafts to help the D. This is the year hopefully Cam gets some young talent to grow with.

Two words, Donald Sterling. Not all panthers fan like the type of QB they have. They can all eat poo and get use to the new norm. Like Charles Barkley eloquently uttered about the NBA(which also applied to the NFL), "this is a black league". Unfortunately the NFL doesn't have people as ballsy and with the cache as Barkley to remind people of that once in a while. They haven't figured that 'great' QB of theirs will most likely be throwing or handing off that ball to someone who belongs in a race that they hate. The NFL and NBA are a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people and they're all welcome to follow another sport.

If true, it is quite a sad state of affairs. I mean if you don't like your team's QB because of his race then why in the world are you still watching and consuming the NFL product?

Isn't there a more appealing sport that you could become a fan of? NFL is something like 70% minority...go be a fan of another sport's league if you hate minorities enough to trash your own team's QB on account of his race.

Know how I can tell you've never been to those boards?

Bradofrd, Tannehill and Stafford have all been bashed by fans on their own forums (go look; it's not hard to find) but the most ridiculous of those suggestions is that Bear fans never criticize Cutler.  A pretty solid portion of them wanted to keep Josh McCown as the starter last year and this year and were pissed when they didn't.

Every fanbase has people that don't like the QB, including the best of them.  Heck, even Peyton Manning has people ready to dump him for the next guy up after last year's Super Bowl.  This is why you have the old saying "the backup quarterback is always the most popular guy on the team".

It is true that some fanbases have more quarterback critics than others, but I don't see the Panthers having a higher percentage among the bunch, and definitely not the highest.  If you believe that, go to a Cowboy board and start a talk about Tony Romo or look back at prior Jag fan discussions about Blaine Gabbert.

I pointed out to this board the very week after we had secured a playoff spot, and defeated the Saints, that there were MORE threads criticizing Cam than there were Dolphins thread even MENTIONING Tannehill-after Tannehill played god-awful and cost the Dolphins a playoff spot. The very same week.

In fact, I linked the Dolphins forum, and pointed out---in great detail--that the only critical post I could find was buried in a thread, and thread that was buried on the second page of the forum towards the bottom.

There were NO threads titles which would even hint at being critical of Tannehill. This was the SAME week our QB just threw us into a playoff birth.

And that is the point. On EVERY single major publication regarding Newton--be it from NBC, CBS, ESPN, Observer you will find PANTHER fans (in addition to fans of other teams) stating how they are Carolina fans..."but Newton is overrated and not a very good QB and it would be a huge mistake to sign him long term" etc.

And that when things are good relatively good...

You honestly don't remember how many thread there were on here the Monday and Tuesday after we won against the Saints talking about how "Newton's touchdown pass wasn't even a good throw" and how moving forward we needed to bring someone in to "push Newton for the starting job"?

And this was right AFTER the biggest win of the season.

Isn't Cam the most prolific QB thru his first 3 years in NFL history? Close to 100 total TD's and well over 10,000 total yards....not to mention coming off a 12-4, division championship season?

So only the Dolphin boards now? What happened to the Bears, Lions, Rams, etc. (I mean besides the fact you made a bunch of statements you know you can't back up?)

I've seen threads critical of Cam. In the years prior I also saw loads of threads criticizing Delhomme, including after wins.

The QB takes criticism sometimes, and often undeserved. It's just a fact of life.

Very well said. Could not have said it better. Personally, I hope they keep suffering from the inside and only have internet forums to vent their frustrations. No matter how mad or racist they are, they can do nothing about it. As for black QBs coming into the league, well, there is more where that came from. Let them keep aching.

excuse for what? 2 pro bowls and 12-4 last year?

as far as talent goes, i don't see how anyone could look at the current OL and WRs and say that he has talent to work with. if there's an OL or WR group in the NFL that's worse, feel free to name them.
