So only the Dolphin boards now? What happened to the Bears, Lions, Rams, etc. (I mean besides the fact you made a bunch of statements you know you can't back up?)

I've seen threads critical of Cam. In the years prior I also saw loads of threads criticizing Delhomme, including after wins.

The QB takes criticism sometimes, and often undeserved. It's just a fact of life.

Yep. Still trying to figure out where in my statement does it contradict or preclude my prior assertions regarding the Bears, Lions, Ram...

Nobody said only the Dolphins board; I merely cited the specific example of the Dolphins.

Just wait until next year, I will be sure to bring to your attention the phenomenon of which I am talking about.

And you are missing the point. It is not that Cam gets criticized-even that it is he gets criticized after a win-it is that Cam gets criticized more than Tannehill does when Tannehill loses than when Cam wins. Same with Cutler, Stafford, and Bradford.

And that you can find PANTHERS fans calling Newton some variation of "overrated" in EVERY article about him on major news publications.

I like how this article acts as if Cam should just be turning any scrubs we decide to throw out there into All-Pro's, but when was the last time a quarterback had every wide receiver who caught a pass the previous season leave, heading into the final year of his contract no less? On top off all that also only adding one single starter (who missed all of last season) on the offensive side of the football since said quarterback was drafted by his team.

This isn't the final year of his contract

excuse for what? 2 pro bowls and 12-4 last year?

as far as talent goes, i don't see how anyone could look at the current OL and WRs and say that he has talent to work with. if there's an OL or WR group in the NFL that's worse, feel free to name them.

Byron Bell at LT? GMAFB

yes, I was referring to this current moment during this off season.

There os no hope for you.

I actually tend to visit other team's boards right after they play us just to see what they're saying.  Occasionally take a peek during the offseason too if something I'm interested in is happening with a particular team.  No, it's not to troll them, that isn't my thing.  It's because I'm curious to see what their fans are saying.  It's good for perspective.  You should try it sometime.

I say "you should try it" because I can tell that you actually haven't done it, at least not in the cases of the Lions, Bears, and Rams.  You seriously wanna try and defend the idea that their QBs don't get shredded after losses?  You gotta be kidding!

The only board it looks like you actually have visited is the Dolphins...and probably just once.  You wonder why they're not ripping Tannehill?   Well for one,  how about that he's only just completed year two so he's still in 'honeymoon' phase with most of the fanbase and two, he's actually pretty good.  Given those factors, there's no reason to expect massive criticism.  I'm sure they have some, but it not being huge is hardly a shock.

Jay Cutler, on the other hand?  If you wanted to show that other QBs don't get torn up by their fans, Cutler is easily one of the single worst examples you could have chosen to support your argument.

If you're trying to build a credible narrative that Cam gets ripped more than other QBs, you need to find better examples.

I'd add this tip:  Don't go to the official boards because those will be censored by the team.  Independent boards (like this one) are a much better source for unfiltered fan opinion.

it doesn't matter when you were referring to. feel free to start listing those NFL teams that are in worse shape at both Tackles and/or their depth chart at WR.....or just rattle off the names of all of this talent that Cam's been surrounded with. When he finally has a decent OL and dependable WRs, he'll reach his full potential and it'll be a sight to see.

I was speaking of the situation before we recently picked up his fifth year option.

Anything to argue though I suppose.

So you're not willing to accept the fact that cam faces a disproportionate amount of criticism from his own fans?

Naturally ever qb of every team gets critiqued and sometimes thrown under the bus by his own fans. It's just way worse with Cam. You really think that cam gets it no worse than any other qb?

People aren't saying cam shouldn't get shredded after losses. He should. People are saying he takes a large amount of unwarranted criticism. The huddle isn't a good place to see that bc in general the mods and community shun people who are too blatant and expose their thoughtless hatred too often. Not everybody who points that out is wrong or is a 'kid with a chip on his shoulder' like you often say.

A significant percentage of Carolina Panthers fans still hate Cam and always will. Your clean cut socially neutered pseudo logic won't change that.

I get it. Your knowledge of football is paramount. ...but your take on social issues could use some field study.

Does Cam get unfairly criticized by some fans? Yes. All quarterbacks do.

Is the amount of criticism he takes 'disproportionate'? Not that I've seen.

Just like there are folks on here for whom nothing he does will ever be right, there are folks on here who will always see any criticism of Cam as hate, regardless of whether it's valid or not. Numbers of both are about equal, and actually overall low.

The vast majority of us would classify him as great, but with area of improvement still needed. And naturally the people on either extreme always classify those in this group as belonging to their enemies.

Bottom Line: There are a small number of guys who have visited here who hate Cam. And pretty much all of them wind up getting run off in short order or relegated to only posting after a bad loss. 'Significant percentage' would be a major exaggeration. 'Lunatic fringe' would be more accurate (on both ends).

I will say it again. And this is just ONE example of many.

Cam Newton was criticized for HOW he threw the game winning touchdown pass that secured our playoff spot, and gave us the inside edge for the No. 2 spot and a first round bye.

Not just one outliner Huddler, but a group of Huddlers, that created both Threads AND Posts criticizing Newton--and one particular Huddler even stated that we should bring in a QB next year that would push Newton for the starting job next year (only one poster suggested this).

That week the Huddle was littered Threads regarding Newton's performance and about 1/2 were of the critical nature.

That VERY week, Tannehill and the Dolphins (my second favorite team) lost to BUF in a shutout fashion, and basically ENDED their playoff bid, and there were NO threads on the Dolphins board even mentioning the name "Tannehill."

He can bury his head in the sand all he wants, but I PROMISE you, there will be MORE threads being critical of Cam after he wins, than there will be of MOST QBs after they lose. And I look forward to pointing them out to him as the year progress (hopefully, we win a ton of games so I can show him a ton of examples from all across the NFL)
