Saw this on BBR and looks like a great topic.

http://blackandbluer...-norman-summer/

I don't any of us can argue that the boy has talent.   He can really play the position.

What his problem is, he wants to play rogue.  He doesn't want to play within the scheme and each piece has to do their part.  He didn't seem to get it.

Hopefully he has matured and has got it.    I would hate for us to lose his talent.  Especially since we are thin at DB.

Good Luck Josh.

Thoughts?

I hope he is smart enough to realize he will be a roster cut if he doesn't show up this season. As a fifth round pick on a team with a secondary with limited talent he may not get another chance.

I certainly wouldn't count on it. The guy is an idiot.

This is his best chance. Not stacked with secondary talent and he has the best defensive coach in the league to help him succeed.

At the same time I feel he will play his own game at times and be a liability on the field

Its on the coaches to reach him and get him to conform to the system. He has all the talent in the world, just not a team player. It will be a huge disappointment for the coaching staff if they cannot turn him around.

It looks, to many, if not all, that he plays on his own.  Like he thinks he is above the system.  It may simply be that he just doesn't understand or have the ability to learn at this level.  It's not a terrible thing, not everyone was meant to be an NFL player.  It may just be too much for him.  I hope he can get it down because his athleticism could be a huge advantage to us on the back end.

He is getting up there in age to be learning like a rookie.  He was drafted age 24 or so--27 and still does not get it?  Not a good sign.

Maybe, but Bene Benwickere (Spelled right?) could surprise and could easily win the nickel job.  Cason, White. Godfrey-we might not need Norman and his renegade stupidity. ( I think he was the one who gave up the TD late vs Buffalo. )

I don't think Normans not a team player I just don't think he understands zone and at this point I doubt he ever will. He was a low pick for a reason and not all carbon turns to diamonds.

I'm a fan of confidence, but not so much in players that have had big screw-ups.

We'll see what happens.

He must learn to keep his mouth zipped and stay out of the doghouse.

If he hasn't gotten it by now I doubt he ever will.

He probably will have a great preseason as usual though.
