That's why I would give up the 9th pick for Barnes. The kid can play the 2, 3, and 4. Also, he's not a finish product. Still a ton of upside.

We already seen what he could do in the NBA. Just need to do it on a consistent basis. I think if he's given the opportunity rather than having to compete behind Curry, Klay, and Iggy, he will. There's not really any guys that are projected to be there at 9 that you could say it's better than Barnes right now.

#24 + *either* Henderson or Taylor for Barnes if it was a straight up trade with GSW.

So:
GSW: Kevin Love
MN: no9 pick
CLT: Barnes + no13

????

CLT and GS would be robbing MN.

So...

GS - Love

Charlotte - Barnes, #13

TWolves - #9, Player?

3816676-0704928121-36645.gif

That trade is so bad it needed 2 MJ laughing GIFS. Giving up Kevin Love to move up in the draft 4 spots, while adding 1 other guy maybe? I mean, I had to miss something here right? LIke, David Lee, Klay Thompson, maybe more 1st rounders? Had to be a misprint.

"Under the scenario I presented means" this post:

Where did this talk about trading Barnes for #9 come from? After Barnes' last year, you could probably get him for the #24 pick, and definitely for either "Henderson + #24" or "Jeff Taylor + #24."

If they went that route, I would still go after Gordon Hayward, because Barnes is really a SG in a SF's body. If he was 6'6 instead of 6'8, there would be no difference in how he plays, or how he is capable of playing, so you could play him at SG with Hayward at SF, which means Kemba wouldn't be the long-term solution at PG because you'd want a PG that was at least 6'3, or taller (aka, "Kyrie Irving").

Only thing with Barnes is he's probably going to be a piece Minnesota is looking for if they trade Love to Golden State, but I am open to Charlotte getting in on that deal, if they actually are interested in a Harrison Barnes. Getting him and Minnesota's 13th pick is doable, since Minnesota has four draft picks this year, and GS would really only be getting Kevin Love.

Give Minnesota #9 in that trade scenario and let them draft Randle if he falls because of his injury, and they'll be ecstatic. Doubt he falls to #13.

Yea, I would run outside naked if that happened. But, what a stupid trade for Minny.

Maybe something like this:
GSW : Kevin Love
Minny : no9 , no.24, Lee
CLT: no13, Barnes

I am operating under the assumption that Minnesota doesn't need any more draft picks, and will probably be trying to deal two of them away anyway, but they would probably prefer #9 over #13, but I would have no problem with that deal, but I would expect Cho to see if he could also get one of Minnesota's 2nd round picks if they are going to take both of Charlotte's 1st rounders, which I wouldn't prefer.

I'd probably draft a backup PG like a Clarkston with #24 if the rest of my scenario went down, where the Bobcats kept #24.

You guys seriously need to take a reading comprehension class.

Or maybe you need a writing comprehensive class?

I'm just kidding.

Yea, maybe.

Tho, Minny could've use all the help that can get.

Maybe :

Trade : no9 + Jeff Taylor for Harrison Barnes + no13

(13) James Young, SF, UK or Rodney Hood, SF, Duke
(45) Russ Smith, PG, Louisville

FA: Pau Gasol, PF / Jordan Farmar, PG

2014-2015 CHARLOTTE HORNETS
PG: Kemba Walker / Jordan Farmar / Russ Smith
SG: Harrison Barnes / Gerald Henderson / Gary Neal
SF: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist / James Young
PF: Pau Gasol / Cody Zeller
C: Al Jefferson / Bismack Biyombo

That's not what I said, at all.

GSW: Kevin Love

Minn: #9 + David Lee (OR Klay Thompson) + Henderson (OR Jeff Taylor OR a different CLT player)

CLT: Barnes + #13

In what world would that trade even happen?

Minny is giving up Kevin Love AND the 13th pick, for 9 (essentially the same as 13 by the group of players available), Lee or Thompson, and a backup SG in Henderson. So, you just traded Kevin Love for a 31 year old David Lee and Gerald Henderson. Even David Kahn may not have done something that dumb. Wait...he probably would have.

Bill Simmons latest trade of Love to GSW was for Lee, Barnes, Klay and a $5 million trade exception. Budinger and Kevin Martin were thrown in to make salaries work going to GS.

At the end of the day, Minnesota doesn't have the leverage. Either they trade Love or he walks first chance he gets and they get nothing in return for him. They will take less than they think he's worth for that reason.

No way Golden State is giving them all of that for Love, when they can just wait for him to sign with them after next 2014-15. They have a relatively young squad. If they give Minnesota all that, then they're the stupid ones.

This whole thing started under a scenario where Randle falls to #9 based on his surgery, so Minnesota can replace Love with Randle at #9 because him falling to 9 doesn't guarantee he'll fall to #13.

It was a hypothetical.

Hypothetical or not, Minny would pull that move if offered. No9 is a lot better than no13. I don't care if it's only 4 spots up.

Guarantee you the Hornets are looking into this: http://www.hoopsrumo...g-harrison.html

#24 for Harrison Barnes?

They can forget about #9.

I hate that free agency isn't until after the draft. It will be interesting to see if Kyrie Irving signs his extension when Cleveland offers it. They will have to move him if he doesn't. And he wouldn't be safe in Cleveland.

#24 + Jeff Taylor should get it done.

#9 has to be part of a package for a bigger name.
