The DEs have never been right. A line full or scrubs or all pro guys doesn't really make a difference.

The only way it will change is to get everyone convinced to boycott it. That will be kinda hard.

So EA has the rights to College too?

At one point they had the rights to all forms of American football. I think they let the Arena league rights go.

2K tried that with All-Pro Football 2K8. It didn't sell very well.

That's probably because they didn't put in a franchise mode and so forth.  In all honesty 2K could make up a league showing off all their graphics and game play skills, and it would definitely sell well.  Yet the truth is, they don't want to get involved in making NFL games or football games right now.  They could have been the one to buy out the NFL licence back in 05, but they didn't care to outbid EA.  When they are ready to get back into the football competition, they can easily make a game and it would sell well.

As for Madden, this game definitely looks better than previous ones, but I still have questions on it.  From the previews I've seen, it still seems like they don't have double team blocking on the offensive line.  All the blocking still seems to be one-on-one.  I would like a little more realism in every aspect of the game.

2k had the best football game, I remember you could do single player 'in helmet vision'...was very badass.

Madden in the N64 version had a first person view too....nothing detailed but for the time was cool

Madden has come leaps and bounds but you have the a casual group of people who have had a bad game of madden and write it off. They have been improving in every part of the game slowly but surely.  Take it from someone who has bought and plays madden in tourneys and more than he should. They listen to people take into account peoples ideas who write ahead and let them know what they want in the game on message boards. There are people who care about the game of football who make the game. It's a difficult balancing act to appeal to the causal audience and to the true football heads. It's not 100% arcade or sim but a blend of both.

If you're actually competitive in said tourneys that means you don't playing anything close to realistic simulation football so forgive me for not agreeing. I've bought Madden every year too for Franchise with friends, and while I'll agree it's gotten better it's still a long ways off of what we should have in 2014. If you need any proof just take a look at what other EA studios have done with Fifa and NHL. Those are much more accurate representations of the sport.

Answer. It truly will be the best madden yet. Last year was a port, and the patience pays off. Qb accuracy plays a big part. Peyton and brady are unstoppable

Peyton is easily stoppable.

See virtually any January.

Did you play the game on All Madden by chance? Is the CPU run game still impossible to stop on All Madden?  In the next gen version, the CPU is ridictulous with Off-Tackle runs and gets perfect blocks every time.  My LB and DL is all high 80s or 90s and get pancaked by 75 overall lineman for 15 yards a play.

Also, did you notice any fixes with "True Step"?  They added in a so called realistic feature in last year's next gen version that made offensive ball carriers have to break down and shuffle their feet to change direction....too bad the defense doesn't have to do the same, so they always have a advantage and can cut you off.

I swear I read this same thread last year ...it's exactly the same.

Theres a difference between what you do with friends and when your playing to win. I like the franchise mode with my friends more than anything but i also play it for the comp at the highest levels. Every madden has its flaws that the developers don't seem to catch and people go into practice mode just to try to"break the game" and take advantage of those flaws. I haven't played fifa hard core but im sure it is more less the same at the highest levels as with any video game. Fighting games have cheesy infinite combo loops all games are flawed because it is hard to make every single aspect realistic. The human element is unpredictable and it's hard to account for that in making a game. As i said madden is a blend of arcade and sim.
