Or trust fund babies that look for any loophole they can find once they are afforded adequate education because their parents can pay for it or a corporate position because of "who you know not what you know"...

Agreed.

But, there are many more that will fall into my statement than will fall into yours.

My point is that the original statement is very broad and full of issues.

That never happens anymore. It's not like two families had control of the White House for 20 years

Don't worry, the Clintons will be back in the White House for another 8 in 2016.

By the same measure that people with kids get a tax break, I think people opting not to have kids should also get a tax break.

So my coworker and I happened to be talking about tax returns, and he mentioned about how he gets a pretty substantial return each year. He has five kids.

I was telling him how I have a bit taken out each check but with itemized deductions (mortgage interest, property taxes, etc.) I try to make it so I owe the IRS $1 or they owe me $1. I have a daughter, but her mother claims her so as far as the IRS is concerned, I have no children.

I was just wondering, if he has 5 kids, all in public schools, why does he get his whole check and I have to pay for them to go to school? Seems like the government should allow you two kids for free, and after that you are just burdening society and it's limited resources, and should pay accordingly.

He does just fine and this isn't a thread to try and burden the poor or anything like that, I'm just curious if I'm the only one who feels this way?

Those people on TV with 19 kids should be paying an extra $150,000 per year in taxes for excessive breeding.

Federal income taxes don't pay for schools.  Well maybe a little of it does, but the vast majority of school money comes from state income and local property taxes.  So if he is living in a big house because of all those kids, then he is paying more in taxes.

Don't get me started on that.

I would love to do a Freedom of Info Act in NC and not only dig into where those funds are going but all this money all these grocery stores "collect" for local schools.

In Harris Teeter's I go it mentions all this money and even names the schools and yet I consistently see schools asking for MORE.

Something doesn't add up.

Oh and in NC, you can NOT, or so the school board tells people, you can't audit for the free or reduced lunch program. HUH?

Kids or not you'll continue to get taxed big.

It costs a shyt ton to educate a child.

Only way to  lower the cost is through pension reform.

This goes for about every gov or union job.

Here in California before a single tax dollar collected is spent, 19 cents is skimmed off the top to pay pensions.
