stirs

What are the rules here

You can be the official HPBW (Huddle Pit Bull Whisperer)

You can reason with it. Maybe you and he can go to counseling together. You can do that funny little "schhhh" sound while poking him in the side. You can even make snarky comments to him. All this will surely have his tail between his legs in no time.

Or just act like a smarter being than just a more powerful one.

I would take a gun and scare the dog. I would put the gun in my mouth and tell him to come at me I'm crazy enough to pull the trigger. If the dog makes a move pull the trigger. Trust me that will teach him to fug with a crazy man.

I talked with one city cop, two sherrif deputies and one person at animal control this morning.

I will purchase some bear or pepper mace, but the bottom line is, if I feel like I am going to be attacked and it has come off its property, I have every right to shoot the dog.

Not planning on it, but won't have a problem with it if attacked.

I'm not sure what's more alarming, the pit bull, or the fact that stirs has a carry/conceal.

bear mace is probably your best bet. from everything i'm reading online UDPA bear mace stops pits in their tracks. if you insist on wearing a gun, i hope you'll be sure only to use it as a last resort. people have gotten along just fine riding bikes for a long time without having to strap a six-shooter to their hip.

on another note i wonder how many people wearing guns when they ride fuging bikes magically seem to run into more trouble than the average person

I am in my 50's.  I would rather not be loaded down with mace or a gun, heck I don't even like taking a phone.

Trying to find bear mace, not available at the local hunting/fishing sporting goods place.

This is George Zimmerman level creepy and unfortunately what gun owners in america spend a lot of time thinking about. Like any other purchase, we want to actually use that gun we bought to fulfill it's purpose. And when trouble doesn't seem to find us we go looking for it. Replace an agressive looking dog with an agressive looking human and you have america in a nutshell.

Yeah it'd make sense to call animal control, avoid the place, talk to the dog owners, etc. But why should I do all that poo when I have a gun collecting dust? I know I'll ask the huddle and the local police to ask when I can legally shoot the dog and purposely ride by there with my gun.

You should ask the people getting beaten up on the American Tobacco trail.
