Why I will never work for a corporation again

Oh no, a whole six hours?! The world must be so cruel and mean.

So can I write a thread bitching about how I have a college degree and shouldn't be working eight days straight? And that my normal work week is about 60-80 hours? At night? In every weather condition known?

no just let him find out on his own. back in the day we called that a rude awakening and he will be crying for his 6 hour job.

Can you guys not read?  He's upset because he was supposed to come in for 8 hours of work, but because they worked hard and efficient, the way you should, he got let go 2 hours earlier than he should have.  Basically, he was penalized for being a good employee and is frustrated.

Looks like a lot of bitching about being short staffed, getting sent home early.

I forgot to add. While this little summer job is making grown men cry last week we had a man die at work. Sure he didn't follow safety procedures but he had turned in his two weeks because he didn't like the work. Which is cool because this isn't for everyone. But he's gone now leaving behind a wife and kids.

We can read. So a job that was supposedly understaffed finished two hours early? Sounds like it wasn't understaffed. Labor is the biggest cost for most companies.

Tough? Yes, but I also know there are things that can't wait to kill me on the job. And I'm not a cowboy. I prefer the English riding discipline it's why I own a warmblood.

Sigh.

 

Basically, a job that the company deemed understaffed, was performed by OP and someone else.  They worked very hard and efficient, therefor, getting it done even faster than the company expected.  So the two employees who worked very hard and efficient and did the job of 3 people, get penalized so the company could save a few bucks.  The predetermined shift was 8 hours from what I gather.  Do you not understand his frustration or should he be happy for getting penalized for working hard and efficient?  Are you saying he should just work less hard?  Since you are apparently the hardest worker known to man with the manliest job in the world, wouldn't someone like you NEVER say that?

 

Why is it not shady when you hire someone for 20 hours a week (and they need that for bills) then keep letting them off early because they are doing their job too well?  Do people expect loyalty from employees when they are treated like this?  Should they get a second job and say they can come in to work only if they get let go early from the first job?
