Two things I like about Roberts.

1) He can shoot
2) He can shoot

36% from three - slightly above average
46% from inside the arc- above average
46% from inside the paint- below average

Just stay out of the paint.

You can't say it's too much when you have no idea of what the demand actually was for him. You're acting like Cho just pulled some random number out of his ass and had no justification in offering that salary. You can't be that naive....or can you?

I repeat: ...it's still too much. Where is he so great at that the stretch 4 had to be him?

If the Hornets wanted Lance Stephenson and he wanted $15M and refused to budge, you know what the Hornets would do? They would cease negotiating with him.

If Marvin Williams required $7M a year, they should've moved on to the next "PF" on their list. Like someone said in the Williams thread, if they were going to pay him $7M, they might as well have just given that to McRoberts if they "really wanted him back" like they claimed.

Williams should've gotten $5.5 - 6M at the most.

No one wanted to even give McRoberts that much, and Williams is a better scorer, but he doesn't bring as much heart, hustle and passing as McRoberts did.

If you can't see the hypocrisy in this deal, check your vision.

It reeks of desperation.

Come on man....McBob wanted more years. They paid more for MW so they could only have him for two years so the young PFs can continue to develop. How do you not see the difference here if you're going to be so critical of the front office?

Do you know that we weren't in a bidding war with another team for Williams? Do you know that we didn't offer McRoberts the same two year deal but he wanted a longer term deal? You saying Williams should've gotten X number is just pulling a number out bc you like all of us do not know whats going on in the market.

I was shocked with the price tag and was expecting the same numbers as you but many ppl thought we overpaid Big Al. It turned out well. Maybe Cho and company think the fit is good with us. Who knows if they think Lance will be good for us or not.

All I know is if we don't sign Lance then its safe to assume:

1. We didn't like Lance as a fit bc we had the money to get him

Or

2. Lance didn't want to be a part of the Hornets

I'm doing something I dislike ala the tard madden opinion........ given my great winning % in deep deep fantasy leagues, I owe roberts some love. Before my season started I needed pgs(blew my load on 5 players in 20 player auction league) so I did my normal 20 min research on the super sleepers, roberts name popped up. Put him on the watch list and then eric bledsoe got hurt, I needed a pg real real bad.

Picked up roberts cause of upside, three games later he became a 30 min a night player. He helped me win the league along with lucky wavier pickups. Hes about the perfect cheap backup pg. Why do some hate this?

You can also use some sort of exception even if you have cap room for 2.73 million or so, so it is possible it doesn't count against cap number... or something like that

Someone else explain

Not sure about that one.

We could use the rookie exception and sign Stephenson first then go over to sign Vonleh and Hairston (Omega would have to verify if this is allowed).
