PJ Hairston Appreciation Thread

There's a very long list of mediocre NBA guards that could average 15 ppg if given the green light.

You are correct. That comment was to the person that said PJ could not "contribute". 15ppg would def be contributing.

I thought P.J. played well today.

15 points on 40% shooting along with 4 rebounds and a steal.

He also showed a lot of hustle and played solid defense for the most part.

I'm impressed with what I've seen from him on the court so far.

These past two games have been really good for Hairston.

Hairston is averaging 18 points per game on 46% shooting from the field while also shooting 40% from three. He also averaged 3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals as well.

Keep it up P.J.

PJ's handle in traffic is pure poo.

If I were the coaches I would have to force him to focus on a hard 1-2 step drive protecting the ball. Anything more and he is getting stripped or fumbling the ball out of bounds. I did not realize his handle was that loose. So it is abit of a disappointment for me. Hopefully he can improve in that area.

His 3 ball is looking nice though.

I expect PJ to be a very good NBA player, but we have to all remember he is just a rookie. I think some people see UNC fans talkin up PJ and they instantly expect him to go full beast mode on the court, while others are more realistic and realize the potential of this young fella and thats why we are excited about him.

He was drafted to be a role player.

Lighting it up in the Summer League doesn't mean you will in the regular season.

I know he was drafted to be a role player, that's why I said that.

Wasn't PJ a top 10 recruit coming out of high school? I remember him being an elite prospect and having an NBA body before he even got to UNC. He's got the potential to be a very good player, he just hasn't been able to stay out of his own way and develop.

Roy tried but you can't force somebody to listen. Always wondered why PJ was always buried on the bench when he was arguably the best player on the team, and why Roy seemed to ride him the hardest. Guess it makes sense now, though.

Side note...

PJ, Cody, & MKG were all in the 2011 high school class. (MKG reclassified from '12 & graduated a year early)

Austin Rivers was #1 in the class, ranked above Anthony Davis O_o

I don't think PJ was anywhere close to the top 10, was he? I thought he was in the 30s
