maybe some good news for Hardy

I mean, the Giants were built around having a strong D line. Why does everyone say that Gettles never wanted to keep Hardy? Ive never heard good reasoning regarding that.

Because Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly

Because Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly

We only have money to pay for 2 players? Yes we have cap problems but havnt you seen the way that can be manipulated, a lot by our very own GM let alone many across the league. Gotta do better than a 6 word statement.

Looks like he won't be suspended until after the jury trial. So he gets one more year with us and then he's gone.

He's entitled to a jury trial after appeal. We've talked to the league. We have to respect the legal process

Gettleman: “We’ve been in touch w/the league … we have to respect the legal process.” So doesn’t appear #Panthers will do anything.

If Rice only got two games for knocking out his GF, now wife, then Hardy better just get a "two quarters" suspension.

he's not getting a suspension this season.

I'll just have to start dropping this in all these threads:

I've been here for years and still don't get it. I'm not sure if it is a Panthers thing or just a NFL fan thing, but people here are obsessed with finding ways to get rid of their best players. Getting rid of one of their best players, and right when he is entering his prime, ohhhh yea.

Good.

Let him go to Atlanta next year on a one year deal ($16mil) then suspend him for the year.

yea if Kony Ealy performs well this season, i say they cut ties with both Hardy and Big Money. unless Big Money wants to restructure for a cap-friendly deal... they can search for another DE gem in the 2015 draft to replace him if he is unwilling to do that. hopefully Kony will perform well enough to give them enough reason to let Hardy walk.

dont get me wrong, if Big Boss Cat, NippleShorts, and Riverboat think that Hardy has turned a corner and has truly learned from his mistakes, i think they should try to retain him. even if Kony performs and even if they can work something out with Big Money

Wow, most people here are trying to figure out ways to get rid of one of our premier DE's.

You are actually looking at ways to get rid of BOTH our premier DE's. That's some next level stuff right there.

He has a right to a trial by jury, I wonder if they will wait till full legal process has taken place

So he'll play for one year for the Panthers then have his trial.

He has a lot to play for getting a contract wherever he'll be playing in 2015 and have a year to get the PR machine fixing his image.

This may work to our advantage.

They are going to wait until after the jury trial.

Darrin Gantt is in full self righteous mode railing about the NFLs lack of respect for women..... all the while proudly displaying his Rae Carruth avatar pic because he thinks it is fugging funny.

I asked him about it and he just defended having a convicted wife murderer represent him in a public forum because he is partially in the picture off to the side of Rae.

I think he is about to block me. :D

Johnson is much, much better than Hardy. In fact, Johnson is probably the most complete defensive lineman in team history. He's criminally underrated. Peppers and Jenkins had more raw talent but Johnson is very talented and he's a complete package. He does everything very well. He always shows up.

Johnson is a bit older but he still has a good 3-4 years of Pro Bowl level production in him. That's plenty of time to develop Ealy and see if he's next in line.

Hardy is a great talent but he's an idiot.
