The Huddle Gameday Live - Buffalo Bills Edition

858 posts in this topic

Tonight the Carolina Panthers take on the Buffalo Bills in the first preseason game of the season.

Expect Bank of America Stadium to be half full of transplanted Buffalo fans who gloat about how great Buffalo is but would never actually move back there.

Kickoff: 7:30pm

Weather: Chance of rain

TV: WCCB

Radio: 1110WBT

Follow @CarolinaHuddle on twitter for live tweets from the sidelines before and after the game.

The Huddle Chatroomwill be open during the game for out of towners to keep up live with the action.

I don't expect Cam Newton to play. Derek Anderson will play the first series or two with the first string. The most interesting action of the night for die hard fans will come in the second half. Young prospects will be playing their hearts out for a chance at a roster spot.

Players to Watch:

- Kelvin Benjamin: Will his camp success translate to actual football games?

- Marcus Lucas: 6'4 UDFA looking like a gem in Camp

- Offensive Line: Will they hold up against the formidable Buffalo attack?

- Bene Benwikere: The most promising CB prospect since Chris Gamble.

- Kony Ealy: Has had mixed reviews in camp, is he more of a gameday player?

Please use this thread to post your general thoughts throughout the day and during the game.

Can't wait to raise some hell! I strive to rid my section of Buffalo inbreds completely.

I hate having to learn all the new guys numbers... 13, 81, 82, white guy is the receiving core; other than that I have to keep looking at the roster from the team website

As long as the wait was, it wasn't as bad this year to me as in years past...

I'm ready for some football either way.

    • I would be more than happy with a battle of the Carolinas for the title (if for no other reason than it means we got by UK and KU). Please beat Florida for me.  I am sick of hearing about them.
    • Ross for me. Davis is good, but the same way Ross' previous injuries give people pause, so should Davis' competition. You can only play who's on your schedule, but Davis played against inferior talent and, for the most part, got shutdown against good schools (Wisconsin, OSU). He did dominate the other schools so I'm not saying he won't be a good pro. I just think this T.O. talk and saying he's going to beast out could be premature.  Davis last game he was shut down by Wisconsin and then, due to injury, hasn't run at the combine or his pro day. For me, that's a little risky too at #8.  I wouldn't take Ross at 8, but what we need based off of our roster is a player of Ross' abilities and strengths, IMO. I wouldn't be mad with Davis, but I prefer Ross and would not want either at #8.
