Nah not really thats how they are taught to block and in the trenches where he will be blocking this will not get flagged as long as he doesnt continue to hold when the defender makes a move to get free.  Thats pretty sound technique, i would like to see his hands on the inside though.

That is not sound technique, like you said you want the hands inside. He is a TE so he wont get away with it like the interior linemen do. I know he can briefly have his hands outside but you can see hes grabbing cloth which is close to the first thing you are taught not to do.

It's crazy to think that jus because his hands were
On the outside during the brief time for a picture that he would get a holding call. Watch football lineman and tight ends all grab hold of cloth that's the only way to secure a block is with ur hands if
You lose grip u grab again to reposition if he has a firm grip on the outside he could reposition back on the inside. That's great blocking
Period they don't need to be playing patty cake every oline coach in the league I could guarantee tells their players
To grab cloth on the inside...but
If they break lose you can grab again while reaching u have to reposition ur feet In front.

Short is clearly the second best DT on the team, even though he isn't technically a starter he did play the second most snaps out of our DTs last year

Fortunately for us however, even other GM's must have read the fears, just as they must have read/believed with Star last year for different reasons.  Turn on the tape, use the eyeball test, and it is what it is-an absolute thoroughbred of a football player that I would not trade for anyone in this entire draft class because it filled such a need with such quality.

I just love saying it as I have so many times on this forum-his college coach said he would be a top 3 pick if he came back, he comes from a high school that has produced more NFL players than any other, won a national championship at F$U, and has physical skills that don't even currently exist in this league.

Amazing.

You said it all, a mouthful!!

Agreed. I say the same thing.

When I look at Benjamin, I see an absolute thoroughbred (from the way he looks, moves, catches the ball, plays, etc.).

Gettleman's knee reminds me of Krang from TMNT when I was a kid.

Our conditioning has been a worry for me because it seems like we've had a lot more "light" practices this year than in years past. Or is that just my imagination?

Definitely lighter and less intense. I have been warning of this for a while now.

In your honest opinion Zod, do you believe this lighter approach kill us in the fourth quarter? I mean, the coaching staff likely decided to go this route to avoid injuries but, as we've seen, a less intense workout hasn't prevented much.

Not sure about that, but I think it does contribute to the slow start every season.

I think Rivera is saving his padded practices for when the weather turns hot again. They only get so many in this CBA.

Dammit. I really hope we don't start 2-4.

It's The Charger Curse.
