Official Panthers - Chiefs Gameday Thread

Picking up new furniture today. Will be nice to watch the game on tonight.  Next week picking up new furniture and a 60" tv for the man cave.  I know, I know...I have my priorities backwards, should have furnished the man cave first.  But in order to get what I wanted downstairs I had to make the wife happy. Playing the long game.  It's a marathon not a sprint.

Happy wife, happy life

national anthem will be sung by South Carolina native Delvin Choice of NBC's The Voice. Adam Levine of Maroon Five, Choice's coach, said no one on the planet, the solar system, has a voice like Delvin Choice. "It's of another world," Levine said.

halftime show will be a stunt show by NC-based King BMX, owned and operated by X Games alum, North Carolina's Keith King.

Benjamin prepping for extra attention... the Panthers are preparing the rookie for added attention that's likely to come from defenses.

"Defensively, we've done some things to put him in situations where he is being jammed, being pressed, being doubled, being rolled to," head coach Ron Rivera said. "He's got to get used to it. He's done pretty well."

Scalpers are selling $500 gridiron seats for $125. Others are less than half price too. Gotta love preseason.

expected to play their first string offense whole first half too:

"Quarterback Alex Smith and the first-team offense are scheduled to play the first half, and they need to show more production than the meager 28 yards and two first downs (one by penalty) in three first-quarter possessions in the preseason opener against Cincinnati."

from Chiefs website:

"Greg Hardy has compiled 81 tackles and 26 sacks in the last two regular seasons combined. How Chiefs left tackle Eric Fisher (the #1 overall pick in 2013 Draft) handles Hardy will correspond with how much time Alex Smith has to get rid of the football. If Smith gets the time he needs, he’ll have to deal with 23 year-old Luke Kuechly, who last year was named the youngest AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year in history. Over his short, two year career, Kuechly has compiled 199 tackles and six interceptions. This past offseason, he was named as the 15th best player in the league by the NFL Network’s Top 100 countdown."
