Possible DE Trade?

Recommended Posts

Considering the QB's in our division, I would definitely do all I can to keep a strength a strength, we've seen our team with little pass rush...

No doubt. I like balance on both sides of the ball. Thus why I would support such a move.

I'm not completely against a trade if it gets us a quality tackle, but I think the possibility of that is low. We might get a backup, if that.

A legit backup OT is pretty high on my list lol.

If we are lucky cuts will provide us some depth and we can keep the DE group.

Rotating 6 DEs a game, that can play, could be a thing.

Yeah I think we will find a few guys after cuts that would be pretty close to the value of what we would get in a trade. We also should remember that we as Panthers fans put a certain value on our own players, and other GM's in the league may not necessarily share our opinions.

Keeping 6 defensive ends is unusual for sure, but the team is in an unusual position with the DE position next year. Hardy could be gone, Johnson is getting paid extravagantly, and Alexander will be a RFA. That leaves too many question marks to be unprepared for.

I understand that, but we're one knee injury away to Bell or Chandler from a real disaster.

We still have cuts yet to happen. The team seems to have a knack for picking up a veteran guy after cuts to fill a position of need. We have done it at least the past 2 seasons and it has worked out pretty well (Dwan Edwards, Quintin Mikell)

I'm sure there are some interesting goings on in Gettleman's office right about now. I need to know...

the timing is important, but it does seem Getty is setting us up for negotiations.

Second string OT's rarely get cut, but it's certainly worth waiting on.

I guess my question would be what team has such depth at OL?

The Lions have a pretty depth offensive line, as do the Titans.

I bet his office smells like a salami sandwich.

On a serious note, DG has to be considering something because we just don't have depth at OT. We might have developmental guys but not guys that can step in if an injury occurs. It's good to have these kind of assets though.

Why fart away our young depth? Don't you wana keep grooming them to maybe replace the ferocious rotation we already have? Think beyond this year.. Long term... Which is what gettleman is thinking.

Charles is getting up there and Hardy is an expensive wild card. I wana keep our depth.

not only that but CJ seems to be developing a knack for injuries- granted minor at this point but all the same.

That turns my stomach. I hope he has some febreze.
