Why fart away our young depth? Don't you wana keep grooming them to maybe replace the ferocious rotation we already have? Think beyond this year.. Long term... Which is what gettleman is thinking.

Charles is getting up there and Hardy is an expensive wild card. I wana keep our depth.

I agree, but weigh it against our god awful OT depth protecting our franchise QB.

I'd keep all of them. For now. Someone would have to make me an offer I couldn't refuse.

One of them is very likely gone one way or another just due to numbers. Things would have to happen fast to to get a pick in order to turn into another trade as I don't see much of a chance for a player for player trade. Anything is possible though.

Don't kill me for this, but would you trade G.Hardy to the Cardinals for T. Mathieu?  Since Dockett is out for year.  I would

Hardy isn't tradeable.

Big salary, last year on contract, pending domestic abuse court case.... Not worth the risk to other teams I don't think.

Would I? YES.

But the Cardinals won't go for that.

FACT : The Panthers have what probably is the deepest group of Defensive Ends in the entire NFL.

When NFL teams look for valuable trades, they first look to teams that have talent to spare in the position of need. We all know this, it is obvious. The Panthers have 3rd string defensive ends that would be definite second string or possibly even situational first string players around the NFL.

Here are the locks to make the team, in order of skill level:

Charles Johnson

Greg Hardy

Kony Ealy

Frank Alexander (after 4 game suspension)

Mario Addison

Wes Horton

Listed are 6 defensive ends that belong on NFL rosters. However, there is probably only room for 5 on the 53 man roster.

I smell a trade.

Consider this as well...

They don't have to do anything now (before roster cut downs) due to Alexander's suspension. They can wait until the season has started when the demand may be higher due to injuries.

If they can't work a deal prior to week 5, then what do they do? Assuming all our guys are healthy, who goes?

I only believe that Horton is getting reps with the first and second team defense because they know Alexander will be out and this is going to thrust Horton into a bigger role. They want him to be prepared.

Hey, "you can never have too many pass rushers"

I smell all 6 stay, and one of the prodigy WRs goes. Why keep 6 or 7 WRs when we are clearly a defensive team. We are an injury and a suspension away from taking a big blow at DE. I want to groom our young DL

I have to agree with you. Although Horton is the most likely to go, I think we go the route of great rotation. If he is traded, they will probably be seeking draft picks. I dont see a player for player trade here unless its a great value trade. Because Getts has pretty good draft skills. (Stock-piling picks is also a good way to trade up in draft)

We have 6 legitimate 1 and 2 string DE's, and we may have to cut one.

It only makes sense to make a trade.  5 DE's of the caliber we have is

more than enough.

I don't agree with trading Alexander. I don't think we would get back in return what he's worth because he's still progressing.

He's on a rookie contract through 2015, and we need the depth, I would keep him around.

Johnson also has a tweaked hammy which could of lead to increased reps for the depth

We have an abundance of assests at DE. If someone is desperate for help, we could spin one of the DEs for a solid OL prospect. Keep in mind.

Hardy is likely gone at seasons end. Alexander is a FA? Or has one more year.

Nothing wrong with holding the cards.

Good to have assests either way.

Alexander has off field issues and was recently promoted by Ron Rivera as a "Camp MVP". All he needed was a dog or a little kid and he could have been on a morning car dealership commercial.

Sounds like a classic 'pump and dump'. Personally I think Frank has been more of a Marginally Valuable Player. I also think they see Horton as more valuable as a player than trade bait.

Considering the QB's in our division, I would definitely do all I can to keep a strength a strength, we've seen our team with little pass rush...
