I wonder if people would be more open to trading one of the backup DEs now.

I'd keep six.

KB

Cotch

Avant

Brown

That's way better than last year

As a UGA fan, I really hope King finds a home here in Carolina

Kelvin Benjamin

Jerricho Cotchery

Jason Avant

Brenton Bersin

Philly Brown

The Panthers will keep only 5 WRs. They will use Brandon Williams more this season. Brandon Williams and Greg Olsen will line up at WR through out the season.

Keep Kelvin Benjamin, Greg Olsen, and Brandon Williams on the field as much as possible. Rotate in the other receivers depending on the set the Panthers want to run.

My dream formation for this group is a single wide (KB) with Olsen and Brandon Williams stacked on the opposite side of the line. Tolbert offset to the TE side and DeAngelo or Stewart offset to KBs side. Cam Newton in shotgun near both backs.

I'd rather just cut cotchery or avant. They haven't done anything this offseason. At all. Why are they just being gifted a roster spot? I don't give a crap about experience if you can't still play. I'm not so sure they can.

At this point, I say cut ties with one of the Vets, mostly Avant..Let the young bloods take over. Cotchery can be the yoda of the group.

Looking over the receiver situation, I am sticking with my roster projection from last week.

If the Panthers keep six receivers, I have it....

Kelvin Benjamin

Jerricho Cotchery

Jason Avant

Brenton Bersin

Tavarres King

Philly Brown

However, with the news of Cam's injury and the likelihood of Joe Webb making the roster, the Panthers could decide to keep five receivers (as Joe Webb could play receiver in an emergency).

If this is the case, Brenton Bersin or Tavarres King will be placed on the practice squad. Both are still practice squad eligible. King was on the regular roster last season but was inactive for all ten games.

Philly Brown leaps ahead of the odd man out due to his punt return skills.

I thought it was two years max on practice squad.  Wasn't Bersin on practice squad in 2012 and 2013?
