Hardy Case Dismissed

Recommended Posts

I hope everyone realizes the decision to sit Hardy was not made by the Panthers... it was 100% Goodell's call.

I mean... that is obvious isnt it?!

All a PR stunt... a weak PR stunt at that.

This is not how I wanted it to go. The perception will be this was a dubious trial and Greg got away with murder (even though he was charged with a misdemeanor). He will not be a Panther and some other team will enjoy his services for a discount rate.

Kraft, you spineless cheating loser, where's the NFL's apology to Hardy and the Panthers for advising Goodell to suspend Hardy?

He probably doesn't hear me because I didn't go to Harvard

Actually it happens quite a bit.  Sometimes its better to Settle than face a trial, even if you feel you have a good shot at winning.

Or settle BEFORE the criminal trial and make the primary witness disappear.

I didn't even know that was fuging legal.

GENIUS.

So you're saying that Gettleman exercised the franchise option on Hardy knowing he was going to be accused of domestic abuse?

Could you explain in detail how Gettleman knew such a thing?  Crystal ball?  Tarot cards?

Oh my sweet Jesus...no, I'm not saying this, and no one is saying this, but there was 13 million dollars used last year on a player who played 1 game for us last year.  I did believe that when we tagged him it was dumb without knowing this was going to happen because 13 mil could have gone towards us getting competent receivers or tackles.  AGAIN, fans have the right to be pissed off.  It's like when a kid has their parents credit card.  It's super easy for them to go on a shopping spree because it's not THEIR money they're wasting and it was super easy for the NFL to make this decision because it was the panthers money they were wasting.

the insane, nuts logic that you don't make a settlement for a case you're going to win.

It happens all the time and I don't think the settlement was necessarily money. In this case it could have been make no contact with Holder. If it were money it mustn't have been much if the prosecution had no case.

Since hardy is still on the exempt list, maybe Goodell tells him he only takes him off the list if he plays for league minimum in Carolina for a year.

He owes us

A settlement makes perfect sense to me...

"Here's $5 Million... you disappear and don't testify... I don't have to sit thru a trial and then make millions more when I sign a new contract..."
