I thought it was:

it's cornbread and chicken

Where I come from a lotta front porch sittin'

Where I come from tryin' to make a livin'

or maybe:

In the town where I was raised

The clock ticks and the cattle graze

Time passed with Amazing Grace

or was it:

I said I'm from the front pew of a wooden white church

The courthouse clock it still dont work

Where a man's word means everything

Where moms and dads were high school flings

Gave their children grandmothers maiden name

I don't know how they can say that when there are so many people like me with heritage from a dozen+ european countries.

Guess my name is english so I'd be considered english.

I thought this was going to be about that cool show on the Nat Geo channel. That was an eye opener (re: origins based on genetic markers in mitochondrial DNA).
