Recommended Posts

He probably got a phone call that said... Either jail or you have to resign. No way this dude would if quit just like that.

It will be interesting to see if the next guy up is just another Blatter pawn and the same votes for Blatter are just translated over to the new corrupt fool.

i'd really like to know what happened in the last 4 days that led to this

You not the only one.... It's almost guaranteed he was going to be indicted.

Cam's contact, Blatter resigning, great day yesterday! Don't think details will be made public, but I'm quite sure he'll be presented with some serious evidence they had against him. Now let's hope the new boss will be someone who puts soccer ahead of personal power. I really hope Figo will get a shot at it, but might be too soon for him.

Great news. Any indications on what this could mean for Qatar?

It's certainly possible. There was a report released recently that stated the entire 2022 Bid Committe has been advised not to travel to the United States for fear of being arrested.

At this point in time, I think it's a longshot, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of the 2022 vote being reopened.

I think there would be too much financial consequenses for the FIFA if the bid would be reopened. Qatar already spent billions of dollar upgrading their infrastructure and stadiums, can't believe they would do that without any guarantees.

Well, I'm not sure guarantees hold up when the deal made was illegal in the first place.

If Qatar stripped of World Cup, this will discourage other nations from committing briberies.  If Qatar keeps World Cup, this will encourage others to take the risk.

Also,  Russia launched new offensive on Ukrainians today.  This can cost them World Cup as well if they continue to attack, especially MH17 report should be finalized sometime this year.

Chuck Blazer, FIFA official, just admitted receiving bribes from France and South American World Cups.

This his is not even the tip of an iceberg...  Get ready for a roller coaster ride, folks.

Wait until the bribes announced by Qatar and Russians... It's coming.
